Should we have a TS meal right before SWAGS Dessert Party?

Hey all. So we have a 50's Prime Time booked for 6:05pm and then I saw that they extended the SWAGS DP and I booked that for 7:45 (SWAGS at 9pm). Is this a bad idea? Should we not eat so close to the DP? Also how early can we arrive at the DP and check in etc?

Definitely skip dinner - we usually just do a late lunch for dessert parties. The SW dessert party has savory items as well as desserts - so much to eat there. You can always get a snack if you're hungry after. I'd rebook 50's PT for lunch if you still want to go there.

If the food is like the Wishes dessert party I went to, you definitely don't want to go full. You'll find plenty to eat at the party!

And @scrappingbuckeye , can we send statues of Woody Hayes north of Toledo? O!-H!

@FelisLachesis Sure send it on up - it will match my other decor. I have 2 national championship pictures, the Nike championship poster and lots of other paraphernalia. My daughter will be going to OSU in the fall. It's tough living up here but what can you do.

Nice! My only real paraphernalia is my diploma from Ohio State and a copy of The Dispatch from 2001 when we beat you know who. I ended up in the picture, along with 1000 other people.

I'm a Buckeye, my brother is a Nittany Lion, my oldest is a Hoosier. My middle will be a Sycamore in the fall. Anyone who goes to Ann Arbor I'm disowning.

That's awesome! I went to school there as well graduated in 92 (showing my age). My daughter & husband love football so we've got quite the collection going. We live about 25 min from Ann Arbor unfortunately.

Speaking from experience, definitely skip dinner. When I did I had a reservation at Sci Fi at 3:45, thinking there would be "plenty of time" and it was a mess. We arrived even a bit early and they were running behind so we were sat down at around 4 something and we finished eating at almost 6. By the time we made it to the dessert party, I was still so full I barely managed to nibble on one or two things. We agreed that even then it was still worth it, but I regret not being able to enjoy more of the desserts.

It is a very bad idea. The portions at 50's are enormous and you will be stuffed.

I have been to the Star Wars dessert party twice and eat just eat an afternoon snack, but I am not a huge eater. The savory options they have are a flatbread -think, naan, with roasted red pepper hummus and a black bean dip, cheddar cheese, olives, mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, and watermelon. I think that's everything. That plus the desserts is more than enough for me.

Truthfully, I don't like to be too full because I'm there to get my money's worth on booze. Don't judge. And don't forget to take a to go cup.

And PS they will also just give you liquor if you don't want the frou frou drinks and if something like a rum and coke is more the speed of someone in your party. Just tip the bartender.

I agree with the other replies. Have a small meal/heavy snack no later than 5pm - and make it something healthy with no sweets. There are so many good desserts to enjoy, you don't want to be full when you get there.

This is good to know. I have a 3:30 sci-fi on my HS day. We also have the desert party booked for that night. Sounds like I should go ahead and cancel that sci fi and just eat a slightly late lunch

Also good to know! I fully intend to partake in the libations but fancy drinks and dessert might be too much!

@scrappingbuckeye And @FelisLachesis I'm a Buckeye too! Still in Columbus

Oh Wow! Thanks for the info guys! I never would have thought a dessert party could be filling! We are big eaters. But now I know that reservation won't work! I'll have to figure out something else. If we do lunch instead at Scifi at like 2/3 that seems like it might be better! Or Can we just sit down at the Tune in Lounge at any time? Is it hard to get a seat there?

We're huge eaters, and when we did the Wishes dessert party a few years ago, we had a very light, early CS dinner and were very glad we'd done it that way, even DH, who isn't that much for sweets.
