Should we go for the pool?

We are trying to decide between staying at the HOJO, or another hotel (BWPP/Tropicana) for our 3 day trip to DL at the end of April. After DL, we'll be heading down to San Diego for 4 days.

I've been leaning toward the HOJO, because the pool seems nicer than the closer, more convenient hotels. Is it likely that it will even be warm enough to swim that time of year? If not, I may switch to a closer hotel for the convenience. What would you do? Travelers are 2 teenagers girls and parents.

TIA!

I would go for the pool. Chances are probably 50/50 if you'll be able to use it, but the difference in distance is rather minimal. The closer hotels are maybe 3-5 minutes closer, if that.

Thanks! - that is the way I was leaning, but i am not sure how warm S. Cal is that time of year. For us, after the winter mid 60s are shorts and flip flop weather!

What is the typical weather late april??

As far as weather it could be rainy and cool, not cold for you but cool. Otherwise it should feel fairly warm if not hot.

I would go for the closer hotel myself. Thos hotels feel across the street. There will be 1 minute of walking and you will be on Disney property. The Hojo is a big block down the street. The pool is fun but you don't have the young kids that would really like it.

I think if your kids were younger I would say for sure do HOJO, but since they are older they won't be using the cool kiddy pool area. Do you think they'll spend much time at the pool or more time in the parks? I think the parks. Maybe when down in SD you can get a place with a cool pool for them. BWPPI pool though is very very small, but the location is so close, can't be beat.

Well the Tropicana has a really nice pool and a huge hot tub right next to it so maybe go with the Trop. It is closer (altho we personally prefer the Hojo) to the parks. I've stayed at both and I'd say the walk from the HoJo for us is 7-10 min, the walk from the Trop was about 5. If your kids are older then go with the Trop.

HOJO pool was perfect for our familiy. We were there this past January and the water temp was fine. The hot tub was usually crowded however!

What P Wings said :) If you have teenagers, they're not gonna like the pirate pool. I'd go for the shorter walk (the Trop).

When we were there in May/June last year DD swam in the pool at Hojos, but is was too cold for DH and me. DD would swim in the ocean in the middle of winter if we let her.

Wherever you decide to stay, I hope you have a great time!:goodvibes
