Should we eat at Beaches & Cream? or just ice cream?

Beaches & Cream looks like fun, and we can appreciate a good burger or roast beef sub...I know many people say you should pay OOP for B&C, but we may have an extra TS to use (if we pay OOP for Planet Hollywood) and we would all get our own meal/dessert, so it seems it would quickly add up to over $60, so it seems to us it may be worth using the dining plan for...

Here are our current ADRs:

Planet Hollywood (on arrival night)
Liberty Tree Tavern
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Chef Mickey's
50's Prime Time Cafe
Le Cellier
Beaches & Cream

If you're going to be paying OOP anyway, go over to the Dolphin Fountain (Dolphin hotel) where the burgers are much better than B&C.

The dinner I had at B&C on my last trip was, hands down, the worst meal I've ever been served in 20+ trips to Disney.

The ice cream (we ordered the No Way Jose, and my kids had the mouse sundaes that came with their meals), on the other hand, was amazing.

We just ate there at the end of June and it was our second favorite meal of the trip! B&C is a must go for us every year and we've never had a bad meal there.

I'd definitely say to go OOP there if you're going to go, as you can use your table credits for a bunch of other places that would be a better value for your money (full meals rather than a sandwich and fries). Ice cream/sundaes/shakes never disappoint either!

Why Planet Hollywood? Nevermind.

B&C is ok, not great. We think the burgers are Sci-Fi are a little better, but the B&C burgers are at least better than your typical CS fare. The ice cream is the real star, though. Love me some Milky Way Sundae. :) Just remember there are no reservations, it is small, and the wait can be long unless you are there at off times, in which case you might not want a full meal anyway.

I have been twice to Beaches & Cream and I think their Cheeseburgers are great. On my list they rank 2nd behind the Burgers at the ESPN Club, so I would highly recommend them.

I had the burger with fruit and a chocolate soda. DH also had the burger with a milk shake and we both enjoyed our meal. The only bad thing about B and C is the occasional wait (don't go it when it's raining as it really fills up fast).

I would eat there for the fun atmosphere. We usually do each trip now. DW and I ask them to split a cheeseburger and a malt for us. I thought they would maybe cut it in half and give us two straws. Nope, each got our own plate with half a burger and fries and our own glasses of of malt. They get tipped generously for that.

I'd pass on the ice cream, it's just Edy's if I recall. Go to Ghirardelli's instead.

We go to B&C every trip its kind of a tradition now. We go early for dinner get the hot roast beef & provolone and the kids get burgers and we get sundaes. Its not as good as most sit down restaurants but much better than the counter service restaurants. Its a small restaurant decorated like an old ice cream parlor with a juke box. I would save the meal credit and pay out of pocket. Linda :)

the sundaes are huge! very hard to eat and enjoy dessert, i would go for ice cream :thumbsup2

Beaches & Cream gets my vote.

We just ate there several times in late June...lunch, dinner, ice cream. We ordered The Kitchen Sink - AMAZING!

The first time I went there in August 2010 around 9:30 PM I waited about 20 - 25 minutes for a table, although I thought it was worth it. The second time I went there was in December 2010 at 8:30 PM, however I was lucky there was no wait and a few open tables and got to sit down right away.

Staying at the BWV for the first time in 3 weeks. Checking in around 4-5 and wanted to grab something to eat. Leaning towards B&C because Big River and ESPN always seem to get negative reviews. Is there anything on the menu at ESPN we should avoid? If the burgers are better at ESPN , we might just go there ! How long will the wait be around 5?

Besides the Burger the only other thing I ordered at the ESPN Club was their Wings and those were also very good, so I can't say what to avoid. Now as for the wait it will depend if there is a major sporting event happening that people will line up for. In December 2010 I went on three different nights to watch some Hockey games. The first two games was on a Tuesday and Thursday which started at 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM, both times I walked right in and sat down at a high top table. The third game I saw was on a Saturday at 7:00 PM and there was a little wait outside, however I said I would sit at the Bar because all the seats weren't taken and walked right in.

Well, switched up my ADRs...got rid of Planet Hollywood (was going cuz I thought when kids saw it, they would want to go in it...oh well) Still may go there at some point....subbed for 50's Prime Time...Also, just plan on B&C for ice cream...probably won't know until we're there! Thanks for all the input!

We stay at the BC almost every trip and eaten at B&C a few times. The food is meh, better burgers at the fountain. We like the ice cream, but it is nothing I would wait for or go out of my way for.( edys that you can buy at home).

We just go for the ice cream.

As others have pointed out, if you're in need of a good cheeseburger, then by all means stop by B&C. We usually sit at the counter, split a burger, and each have a sundae:thumbsup2
