DH, DD1, and I went this past Oct 10-20 to WDW, and did MNSSHP and many of the character meals. As usual, we used APs and activated them for this trip. Now DH had to pick his vacation time in advance for 2004 (NYPD). The summer months were not available for him to pick, since someone else with more seniority in his dept had already grabbed that time period. He could have taken Easter vacation or President's week, to leave a possibility that older DDs (14 and 10)could go, but I didn't want to face killer crowds with DD1, or go that early in the year. We could have done Oct or Nov, to take advantage of one or two school holidays if DDs go, but then our current APs would be expired. I asked him to take mid September off, to miss the crowds and hopefully the worst of the heat.....then I remembered hurricane season....but saved us from spending 750. on passes.
He took off mid Sept. Was this a good decision weatherwise, crowdwise, etc?

We have been a couple of times around the end of Sept. Low crowds but it is still hot. We like going at that time. We didnt even have to make ps to eat at places you normally have to have ps.

I think you made a good choice given the circumstances. Weather-wise it is still pretty hot but there are plenty of water rides and cooling stations to handle that and, best of all, the crowds are REALLY low. Saving $750 on passes is the best reason of all to go in September. Start planning your next trip and enjoy!
