Should this be added to the movie at the Canadian Pavilion in Epcot?

I am not sure if this is possible to do but at the Canadian Pavilion in Epcot where the movie about Canada is played, when Martin Short starts talking about how we love Hockey and there is a footage from some NHL games in Canada, well wouldn't it be great if they can add the clip of Sidney Crosby scoring the Gold Medal winning goal from the Olympics. So is that something they should add to the movie or is it not possible because the IOC is very strict about showing Olympic footage to outside locations and etc?

that movie at the Canada pavilion was unfortunately just re-done a couple of years ago....can't see them adding in anything for a while.....but it sure would be nice! I know watching that game united the country!

I know the move was re-done a few years ago, but this wouldn't be a major change.

I suspect any change, even a minor one, would be cost prohibitive.

But, yes, it would be a nice addition.

It will never happen. The I.O.C. owns the rights to that footage and would most likely not give it away for a small amount of money. 2nd, the contracts the I.O.C. has with the C.B.C. would most likley provent it from happening anyways as I am sure C.B.C. paid a tun of money to get the rights, and put out there own dvd set.

But its a great idea.

Actually the Vancouver Olympics were shown on CTV, TSN and Rogers Sportsnet, because CTV out bid CBC for it's broadcasting rights.

Ya ya,, thats what I ment. All our Canadian tv is the same. Change all my CBCs, to CTVS. CTV got the rights. And they got more then just the broadcasting rights as they are putting out that 8 dvd set you mentioned.

This is why my DD said she would never consider a job at Disney. She would hate to represent CANADA dressed as a lumberjack. OT: we had an interesting event happen this past March as we walked from the parking lot to the DTD McD's... a van pulled in with Quebec plates on it...as we crossed paths with a family of 5 the DD said "Quebec...nobody likes CANADIANS" I guess our recent win at the Olympics was still a sore spot. Given that the majority of plates were from Canada, and we all were down there pumping our money into their economy....well its really hard to lose such an important game.

would you belive at epcot last week we were coming out of turtle talk with crush in our old navy canada shirts and some moron goes " sidney crosby sucks!"...man those were fighting words! i behaved, hubby didnt hear...but it did make my blood boil. yes thats it he sucks, esp with the stanley cup last year and the olympic hockey games this year! what a moron. not the thing you wanna say to someone from nova scotia, or canada either!

When we were at Epcot last week I saw a young "man" and I use that term lightly standing drinking a beer in Germany and he had on a shirt that says..

On the back... Canada sucks too!

Now ok I get the hockey rivalry but come on you insult the country that I am proud to call home and you have an problem with me. Mom & I just walked away since it wasn't worth it but if hubby had been with us

Now I did see a man wearing a hawaiian shirt with the Montreal logo all over it so I learned over to him and told him jokingly that I didn't like his shirt. He asked if I was a Washington fan and I told him no I was a Toronto fan all the way. We laughed and as we were leaving he yells across the food court that he hopes I have a great trip and that my taste in hockey teams imporves.

This not so suttle Canadian bashing is why you won't see our Olympic moment(all though it wasn't our only one, we did come away with the most Golds a host team has ever won) added to the movie. It was a puzzle to us, and now one of our favorite memories as we stood in there with the blizzard blowing and Mr. Short saying how it snows 365 days a year...the look of confusion on the others there as we laughed and laughed at that perception of Canada. They couldn't quite figure out what was so funny.

No kidding!! My DD left here yesterday to work in 'Canada' for a year in the Cultural Rep program. Can't believe my daughter has to wear 'that' get up!! At least until she is inside Le Cellier...It's hideous...

A group of slightly liquored guys in the row in front of me said "the Olympics are over, when will you guys get over winning the gold?".....I smiled politely and said "Miracle was made 24 years after your last gold........I guess we are good until at least the next olympics."
