Should they have been asked to leave?

Its hard to imagine people would pay money to goto WDW just to get drunk and tease young children.

We have been in so many of those istuations! DH always has to go say something, but he has to watch it, loses temper easliy!

How dare they make fun of a little girl! That is just so inappropriate, I would have asked a CM to make them leave in a heartbeat. Sure, people have the freedom to act how they want where they want, but a lack of manners like that is inexcusable. And at Chef Mickeys, :confused3 give me a break!

I would of told a manager and moved to a different table if they weren't asked to leave immediately.

As someone pointed out, everyone is entitled to their fun Disney World vacation.

because of that, the proper thing would have been to ask to move to another table and not to try to get them thrown out.

Did they get drunk by alochol served at Chef Mickey's?? If not there is no inherent liability on the part of the restaurant.

Second and most importantly the restaurant has the right to refuse service, entry or ask anybody they want to leave at anytime. It is not a public place it is a "private" dining establishment.

They should have been thrown out and potentially arrested.

Oh gosh I hope those two didn't ruin the meal for your family.

While yes they are entitled to their own magical vacation they are NOT entitled to ruin other's vacations as well. I would have definately said something to the manager and your server. At the very least they could have moved you to a table in another section of the restaurant.

As someone said before if you are drunk and disorderly in the parks they can escort you outside of the gates. Since the restaurants are on the same property one would think they can escort people out of restaurants.

I don't understand why the manager wouldn't be able to ask someone to leave. What are they going to do with them, force them to stay there until they sober up? I never heard of this kind of liability.

We had a bad experience with obnoxious and very rowdy children at Blizzard Beach. Two large boys were knocking all the little kids off the iceburgs at the Tranining Camp. Just kept on doing it over and over. The CMs (first one, who quietly asked the boys to stop.."Buddy, hey Buddy" Are they taught to use this name, because it seems like they ALL use it..) then a second one, then a third one, then ME because now they were knocking my kid all over the place...still nothing.

I was very upset with the rowdy boys, but even more upset that not ONE CM would do anything other than whisper "hey Buddy"..

I believe that the CMs are trained to not react to anything except possibly blood. Don't want to ruin anyone's experience, even if they are ruining someone else's.

I would have told them once to back off. Then if they kept up I would have gone to a cm. You also are a paying Disney guest and have the right to enjoy your trip.
I know when I was bartending I would shut off people and never once was I sued. We would always call a cab for them. If they would not wait for the cab I always informed them that we would have to call the police.

Umm - I don't know why people say that management wouldn't remove the coulple - I know that they would have. I have seen it done. We were having breakfast at 1900 PF, and the table next to us was not drunk, but being very disorderly. Management called special security - the kind that show up in the black suits - and they were removed from the restaurant. Management also comped our meal, which was totally unnessicary, and we did not ask for it either.

Next time I would ask for a manager.

Getting loaded and taunting a 6-year-old child who wants to meet Mickey isn't a "fun Disney World vacation." It's immature and mean and a little bit sick, and I would have taken great delight in trying to get them thrown out. If these people want to make fools of themselves, fine, that's their business. But when they start being verbally abusive to little kids and disrupting other patrons' dinners, that's over the line.

And at the very least, I would have demanded that we be moved to another table immediately, at the opposite end of the restaurant. No way would I allow my child to be subjected to that.

While I understand that Disney has decided against removing rude people from their restaurants, at least according to posters on this thread whom I have no reason to doubt, I wish they would. But I also wish that they would remove the family with the whinning, crying, kicking, screaming toddler from the signature restaurants where I am trying to enjoy my meal. I guess my BIGGEST WISH would be for everyone to be polite and not let their behavior, or the behavior of their children, effect others while at Disney

Removing people from a restaurant for being TRULY drunk and disorderly is one thing. Removing them for being rude and obnoxious is something else again. Had they been getting up out of their seats, walking around to other tables, shouting at the top of their lungs, physically touching others--then sure they could be removed or asked to leave.
But in the situation as presented here--I just can't imagine any CM or manager doing a thing about it except to move the OP to another table.

You should have brought it to a waiter's attention & let them handle it. Yes, they should have been asked to leave.

Yes, I think they should have been asked to leave or at the very least moved into a corner. I would have been really concerned that they could of got worse & with all those children around, who knows what may have happened.
So sorry this happened.

I disagree. There is a big difference between somebody having "a little too much fun" and verbal abuse. Verbal abuse is a form of assault and should be treated as such. This means that they should be removed from the restaurant just the same as if they pushed someone. There is also Drunk and Disorderly or public drunkeness which is more subjective but still illegal in Florida. The CM and Disney had every right to remove the offending party and call security.

Well--I just re-read the original post and calling what happened "verbal abuse" and a form of assault is a bit of a stretch.
And as we also read, the Disney CM's did NOTHING. Appears the two people weren't acting drunk enough to attract any other attention....
