I'm honestly not informed enough about it to give a firm answer but my initial thought is no because I worry that he will be released or broken out of custody by his supporters.

What do you think?

I think that if the Iraqi government can show that they are able to keep him in custody and safe, then yes, he should be turned over to them completely. Otherwise, no.

Should we release him to Iraq in about 2 weeks? No. But once we are aure the Iraqi government is stable, we should allow the Iraqi people to pursue justice against Saddam as they see fit.

A co-worker and I had this discussion today. Wouldn't it be ironic if they handed him back, held "free" democratic elections and he was still voted in as leader.

I think the Iragi government needs to prove that they can handle this properly but I too fear that due to the uprising that is going on over there I think there would be numerous attempts to free him. I just don't see this ending in a good way if he is turned over.

No, they ought to let him rot and die and then hand him over!!

No, I dont think we should hand him over. If they let him loose or his supporters break him free, then everything we have done in gone in vein. The soldiers lives would have been lost for nothing.

I think he should be tried in one of the NATO countries, not USA, but one of other countries.. I am also getting really tired of the Red Cross. They need to stay out of it ....
