Well, we've only been to WDW once, so I've never seen it without the arm. When we did go, DS4 asked me why someone had chopped Mickey's arm off! :scared: He was quite upset, and he's a kid that doesn't get upset easily. I would never have looked at it that way, but now whenever I see it, that's what I think of. I wish they'd take it down.

Yeah, it's time for it to go. I actually liked it at first when it was put up there for the millennium with the 2000 on it. But the Epcot sign? I mean wasn't it suppose to be EPCOT because it was an acronym?

As others have already mentioned, get rid of the bleeping hat. I hate that thing. Stonehenge has got to go too (my name for those leave a legacy slabs).

One more thing, the fountain you see just as you enter EPCOT use to be smooth. Then when they put up Stonehenge, they put rocks on the surface of that fountain. Get rid of em! :teeth:

YES!! It drives me insane to see Epcot up there. It's EPCOT! Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Experimental Polyester Costumes of Torture. Every Paycheck Comes on Thursday. EPCOT!!

Ahem. I also dislike the Hat (move it, at least, from blocking the theater!) And Leave a Legacy. It's too crowded in the entrance way now! And nobody is buying into the Legacy, so there's massive stones with nothing on them. Ick.

I totally agree. IMO the theme here is things that were added for special occasions that should have come down at some point. All these thiese were cool for one year or two. Forever... not so much.

I don't care one way or the other. I never really understood why people hate it so much.

I really hated the castle as a big pink cake! :headache:

I didn't mind the Cakesil because I knew it wasn't going to be there for very long. Like another poster said, you have your celebration, make a few changes for it and then return things to the way they were meant to be.

I think the arm and wand should absolutely come down.

....and while they're at it, they should move those Leave a Legacy slabs somewhere too.

I miss the clean look of the old entrance area.

Me too, I have been going since 1996.....

ITA! In fact, they should start with the hat first!

There are a lot of things they should return to normal. Sometimes change is good, other times not so good. Some things just shouldn't be messed with.

The arm and wand have to go and the hat needs to go at MGM as well. The hat totally wrecked a perfect view down a Hollywood street to the Chinese Theater. That hat wrecks the illusion completely. And what is it? A stupid pin stand (not that I don't love pins, but c'mon). Now I like the hat on it own, I just don't like where they put it.

The Epcot geodesic sphere is perfect as it is. It is amazing and beautiful in its own right. No need to dress it up. I didn't mind the wand for the year 2000, but now, it's gotta go!!

Well our first trip was in 2000 when it said "2000"--so we've never seen the ball plain--and I think for us it would be just that, plain. so I voted no.

I voted yes. I liked it for the millenium but it should have been removed afterwards. And while they're at it, they should plow down those granite Leave a Legacy tombstones they have in front of it.

I like it! I've seen it many times without the wand and many with. I prefer it with the wand. I never understood the visual aspect of the giant golfball anyway. It is far from beautiful. At least it looks cool with the arm and wand.

::yes::

I like the wand,I think it should be kept up.

I voted no but I really wouldn't care either way. It was cool without it, it looks cooler with it. But its not as if I didn't like it the old way.

I have only seen it with the hat and wand, and I liked it.
Also, I was quite happy I could still see it. I had read somewhere it would only be there for 2000 and I think for the 100 years of Disney or so, and I couldn't go at that time. So, I'm quite happy I could see it now!

I do agree though that the hat should have been placed somewhere else
