We are only going to be in MK for one day. I noticed on some posts about CM being nice for b-days etc. Certain kids getting the CM's attention etc. Is there anthing I can do for my 5yr old daughter to get her noticed so she has a better chance at one of these magical moments? A certain hat? Tshirt? pin?

Princess outfits seem to get attention. I, for one, think little girls are soooo adorable in them. :flower:

Myst

I am having my DD(2) a custom made NEMO outfit from a lady on Ebay for $40. I don't know if it will make "her" stand out, but I think any "custom" outfit couldn't hurt :teeth:

We have gotten many CM comments while wearing the Guest of Honor badges that have the child's name engraved on them. They look like CM nametags, but at the bottom they say "Guest of Honor". We got ours at the Christmas store in DTD, but they are sold in the parks too (I think!) There are some websites you can order them from, but they charge A LOT more than what you will pay at WDW.

i've seen lots of kids in the costumes... but aren't they uncomfortable running around the park for 10 hours?

For my daughter's 8th birthday I bought fabric paint and painted a white t-shirt. I think it said Disney princess is 8 today something like that. But she got lots of attention and people would say to her "So your 8 today, Happy Birthday!" It was very easy to do. You could also find some disney clip art and do a transfer on a shirt. There is lots of information about that on the boards here. I know my daughter wouldn't be comfortable wearing a costume all day, and the t-shirt was more comfortable. Good Luck and enjoy Disney!!

Anything with the name on it is good. We have used the Guest of Honor badges on my son's hat & CMs call him by his name all day. The kids usually forget about the pin, so everyone knowing their name seems like part of the magic.

For my BIL 38th birthday we got him a hat in one of the merchandise shops in the shape of a birthday cake that lit up and played happy birthday. It got him a ton of attention. I'm not sure if these are made in small sizes for little ones but if so this is a perfect investment! That hat made his 38th birthday the best of his life!

I saw a cute little tiara at the store, Claire's, that said "Birthday Girl" on it! Maybe make a Tshirt saying Birthday Girl!

Hopefully someone who knows for sure will fill in the details,
but I think you can get a free, sticker or button from Guest Services saying "Todays my Birthday" or something like that.
I heard a lady ask for one at Guest Services in Epcot while I was waiting for a tour to start a few weeks back.
I got the impression she was getting one from each park that day...busy lady, for her son.
