We just decided to do a cruise in July. We were going to book one for next March before that. Should we wait until July to book the March cruise, or will the price go up enough that the OBB deal won't make up for it?

No way to know that in advance. Book now, and see what happens with pricing by March. Then you can rebook & cancel the first booking onboard if the OBB is a better deal.

The 03/18 cruises were at opening day prices until near the end of 03/17. Then, they went up quite a bit all at once. We could have gotten our 03/18 for $6000 and ended up booking in June for $6200 with the OBB perks.

You're better off having a booking you can cancel than lamenting missing out on a price.
