Should I tell the truth in my trip reports or leave out the bad stuff?

Which should I do?

  • The whole truth & nothing but the truth.

  • The sugar coated version, please.

We had lots of pixie dust, but we had a couple days from hell too. Ya'll want both? Or just the sugar coated version?;)

i personally enjoy the trip reports where the (sometimes hilarious!) unvarnished truth is written - even more when it's literally a "day in hell"!! LOL! (but, it could just be me...)

i find nothing more BORING than those trip reports that just ooze sweetness & light, where everything is perfect and nothing ever goes wrong in wdw, as we all know (yeah, right!)

you know what i'm talking about: "then we went on dumbo, and little maggie sue wanted a mickey bar, all the while the sun was shining, and we went on 16 more rides without more than a 2 minute wait for any of them, ate a delicious lunch, all the CMs were pleasant wherever we went, and our hotel room was super-clean, and nothing went wrong..." blah blah blah.....

i'd rather know how it "really" was! (good and bad)

so please, no "sugar-coating" the trip report!

:D I can't wait to hear about your trip, Jennymouse -- the good, the bad and everything in between!

I'd like to hear the truth!!
Forget 'bout the sugar covered version!!
We can handle the truth...;)

I would love to hear your entire trip report unabridged. Some of the best tips come from people's horror stories. I wouldn't be a complete trip report without the good and the bad.

The way I see it, we'll never learn anything if we don't know what we're in for.

Every trip I've had since '99 has been getting better and better since I am more prepared, thanks in part to these boards. (Eg. I would never have asked for a Concierge upgrade at any hotel but since learning it was relatively cheap at the WL, why not?)

I am more prepared now more than ever because I have learned from other people mistakes. And guess what, Im looking to improve our holiday all the time, so why not take advantage of these learning opportunities.

As much as we'd like to know about the bad stuff. Writing sentences like 'Little Johnny's vomit was combination of chilli cheese fries and the casserole we had at Resturant X just a few moment earlier. It smelled pungent and overtook the room with a stench strong enough to peel paint' etc. I very much believe you can subtle without being overly descriptive.

To JennyMouse I say 'Bring it' but remember just because its bad doesnt mean to have embarass yourself. In my latest TR, I like to think I was very tactful by implying I had diarrhea without actually using the word or getting descriptive.

If you had problems, I'd love to know, what caused it? Could it been prevented? If so how? How did you resolve it? What were the costs (Time, money, people (going home, to hospital etc)? Looking back, what would you do now knowing what you know? Any outcomes (Never going to Restaurant X again, Reporting CM to Manager, drinking bottled water, using own transport)

Look forward to that TR!

Information without too many gory details, we'll learn and you'll vent.

Well, you're getting the truth! The good, bad & ugly. The Legend, I think the only thing you'll learn from my trip report is to never have daughters.LOL

Thanks jennymouse for being honest! I would love to read the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

Well I'm in for a learning experience. We had a little 'family meeting' last night. Next years trip is Me, My younger sister 34, My recently separated baby Sister 28 and her kids (my nieces 9,9 and 5 (Yes theyre twins)) and her best friend 28. I will be the only male on this journey. Plus the Ladies (Sister, Sister and Friend) want to spend the weekend on a side trip to New Orleans so I'll have the girls for 3 days! (Thats Ok, I virtually babysit them during the weekends anyway!) I suppose thats what you get when youre the single One in the family!

I will be watching and waiting with my notebook ready! ;)

Hey, they're my Sister so they're in constant PMS to me so all I'll need is some really good music and a mobile cone of silence.

Can anyone help me out with the Cone? ;)
