Should I take my family to visit a new resort?

We have been to Pop Century twice for our family vacation. I wanted to plan a new vacation but stay near the price range of Pop Century. I have been thinking about trying a new resort. We love Pop Century but this is our last year to be able to stay there because our family has grown. My 2 year old will be three and will require us to upgrade to a suite. So I wanted to see what would be a good option for us in the same price range as Pop Century. We are looking into going in May and are making some plans.
Thank you

Any suite is going to be more expensive than the price of rooms at Pop, even the suites at the All Star resorts. The suites at AoA are even more expensive. If you want to stay around the price range of Pop, you will have to go off-site. If you want to stay onsite, you could consider the price of 2 standard rooms at the All Star resorts, although that will obviously be more than one room at Pop.

Does this make you a group of 5, previously a group of 4 + baby in pack n play? If so, check out Alligator Bayou at POR. The murphy bed means 5 sleep in a room. Worked great for us a few years ago when it was me, DH, DS15, DS11 and DS7. More than 5 I don't have an answer for!

Unfortunately, with a family of 5 (all older than 2), there are no rooms at the same price level as a standard value room. I agree with 3grboys, I would consider POR. It's absolutely lovely and can accommodate 5. It will be more than Pop, however.

I was playing around with prices of resorts today for a future trip (three years away family reunion) to just kind of have an idea on what the difference in prices would look like. The jump from Pop to Caribbean Beach was only about $250 (six night stay). That is about $46 per night more if staying six nights. Port Orleans was a bit more at $431 or about $72 per night. We have never personally stayed at any of the value resorts (family of 5), but I have to say I love the Port Orleans. If the Caribbean beach stays around the same difference in price point from the Pop, the jump may not be all that bad when you consider the extra cost on a per night basis. The trip I am planing for three years from now we will have to get two rooms since our girls will be 16, 15, and 11 and will not fit on the pull down bed or want to share a bed. Good luck with your planning!

IMO, Pop is the nicest of the Value resorts. AoA does have the Little Mermaid rooms that are non-suite that should be close in price. The All Stars are OK, but they haven't been updated in awhile so of that price point, I'd still go Pop.

I will also throw my 2 cents in regarding POR - if you can swing it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. The rooms are a bit larger than Pop and the other Value resorts. The grounds are beautiful, it's a boat ride over to DS, you can walk to POFQ and it has it's own TS that is open for dinner.

I am guessing that you are now a family of 5 and I would also suggest CBR or POR. The suites at ASMU and AOA will cost more than a room at CBR or POR.
