Should I save my snack credits for the F&W festival?

We'll be there from 9/24 until 10/1 - should I save up all my snack credits to use at the F&W festival on 9/30???

Just wondering if that would be a good idea? I've never used the DDP or been to the F&W festival so not real sure about it.

Depends on how many total credits you have.

Last year was our first year at F&W, and we used 16 credits, but didn't make it all the way around. We shared a sample from each booth between 5 people - and it was still too much for us. :)

We're going again this year, and plan to save a few credits for F&W, but will still use credits for other snacks earlier in the trip.

There's just two of us and we'll have a total of 10 credits. We will probably save a few for F&W - I'm not sure we can use them - but did read something about it in another post.

You could use your snack credits at F&W last year and it was very successful, so am expecting Disney to do it again this year. When you get to the country's kiosk look at the menu board. If the snack credit is allowed for a particular item it will have the DDP marking next to it (it's in a square box). You'll soon start to recognize the symbol when you see it. It's a nice guide that let you know what is and isn't allowed. We plan to do this also since we'll be in WDW Oct. 15-27 this year.

I won't know for sure if I'm going to use the snack credits for F&W Festival food until I'm actually there, but based on the photos I saw posted from last year's F&W, I will probably use the snack credits for better value snacks.

My reason for this is the sizes of the F&W snack servings. The pics I saw looked like about 3-4 bites per snack credit. It just doesn't seem like a good value to me, considering the same credit can get my kid's a big Mickey Bar or a 22oz bottled powerade or OJ at the resort, or a huge chocloate croissant at the resort.

We were there for F&W last year with free dining, and had NO idea we could use snack credits for those awesome samplings! We tried some terrific stuff. ... and at the end of our trip we had so many snack credits left, we brought home Mickey rice crispie treats for all of the neighbor kids.

My dh wants to know if the adult beverages are included on the dining plan snack credits?

I just want all the chocolate items. :sunny:

Sorry, just food.

Oh, man! I didn't know this. Wish we were going at that time, but we're going the week before. Pooh.

The CM could not tell me whether they are going to allow snack credits at the booths this year.

But definitely, you'll need to do some picking and choosing. Some of the bigger and more expensive ones it could not be used for, and some of the cheaper ones weren't worth using it on.

Angels Momma, thanks for the input. I figured that would be the rule. Works for me as keeping an eye on my guy is hard enough without having him being too 'happy'. lol

JMO, from what I have seen of the F&W offerings many are just bite sized portions of things that are sold in many of the restaurants. Since we will have 20 TS credits and will be eating in most of the restaurants I might save a few snack points to try some of the few items that we will not have been able to try but I would not use a snack credit for a tablespoon sized portion of Le Cellier's cheese soup when I will have had a bowl for dinner. I would rather give my credits away to deserving people in the crowd.

Great news!!! If I use some of my snack credits for the F&W festival, dh will only have to buy me a couple wine samples!!! He'll be thrilled as he has always had trouble paying for such tiny portions. Woohoo!! :Pinkbounc

Last year, we had about 16+ snack credits when F&W started. We didn't know that we could use the snack credits or I would've saved all the snack credits just for F&W.

It was a great value using the snack credits during F&W, because the food items range from $1.50 - $4.00. If you use it for things like the shrimp on the barbie, or the NZ lamb stew, etc that costs $3.50 on up, you're getting a better value than using snack credits on popcorn or ice cream bar or even rice krispies treats. Plus you get so much more variety when using it for F&W.

This year we'll be on free dining right around the start of F&W again, and I plan on saving all the credits and using it solely on F&W with maybe just one or 2 going to popcorns and ice cream. Those we can just pay OOP if need be.
