Hi
I am new to this particular forum as I believed I was all disneyed out, however, I need help!

We've done all the parks lots of times, last trip was in 2000. Since then we've been travelling the West Coast and Europe. We are thinking of returning to Florida but I have been told more on than one occasion that after the quietness & the scenery of the West Coast, I would run screaming from Florida and all the parks because the changes made since 2000 are for the worse.

My partner & I have really set our heart on this trip & would like some feedback as to the changes.

We are childfree and just fancy a fun holiday, but is it a mistake & should we just keep our memories??
Thanks!
Jacqui

HEY!! May I be the first to say, 'welcome to the dis!'
Coming here, you may find that we are all pro-disney world/land. But I am anxious to hear what kind of changes for the worse you have heard about. Maybe we can dispute them or help explain them. I know all different types of groups that have traveled to disney world, from a family with 3 little ones, to a couple in there 60's.

Hope we can help out in your planning and decisions....my first piece of advice would be to look through some trip reports that were either done by someone going solo or a couple without kids. You can checkout the route they went.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. This will sound daft but years ago when we used to go to the Parks it was an equal mix of adults & kids, but I've heard that it's now rammed to the gunnells (for want of a better phrase) with unattended teens. I'm not saying that all unattended teens are troublesome, but we have experienced ill behaved gangs of youths in LA Disney & it wasn't very pleasant.

Have the rides all been changed? I was told that the fireworks are not as magnificent in Epcot and generally the lines are long all year round as oppossed to easing off in certain months of the year.

Basically, I've been told that Disney/Epcot etc have lost their magic. Cannot get seated for something to eat without long waits & most things are geared towards very young children.

I know I must sound incredibly miserable & I'm really not, but we love the Back to the Future Ride, Honey I Shrunk the Audeince, The Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain etc & I wouldnt want to arrive to see them substitued for teacups and coconut shy's!

What I'm really tying to say in a nutshell is, can it still be enjoyed by everyone or has it been changed in favour of suiting the younger children?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Jacqui
