Should I put Universal or Disney on the weekend?

Suppose I'm planning a trip that includes both weekend and weekday dates. And for these purposes, let's say it's any old week, not a holiday—maybe the latter half of January. I realize that weekends will always be higher traffic than weekdays, at either Universal or Disney. But if I have to put something on a weekend, what's my strategy? Does the "weekend rush" hit one of them harder?

I would think that Universal would have much higher traffic on the weekends, but that's because they don't require theme park entry reservations and have a lot of local AP holders.

I would think that Disney, with limiting AP's and having a separate 'bucket' of reservations only for AP holders, wouldn't necessarily have such a substantial increase of locals on the weekend.

This is purely speculation on my part and not based on data, however.

If Disney is pretty much "sold out" for reservations every day, I'd opt for Disney. If it's at "capacity" anyways, it shouldn't matter much? Universal you will see a noticeable uptick on the weekends. Especially in good weather.

As above, if you will have EP for Universal then you may want to use it for the weekends. Non-MLK week weekdays in Jan *should* be low crowds enough that EP isn't really needed.
