Should I Preorder the Photopass CD or the Photopass + Photo book?

This is our first trip to Disney World & I have been reading that the photopass is a good investment for $99 but I also saw the photopass + photo book for $149. I have read mixed things about the photo book. Is it worth it or too much trouble? I will be fine with just the CD but want to check. Thanks for any advice!

I did both book+cd this summer, and I liked the book. It took longer to do than books I've done on Shutterfly. I like the Disney backgrounds of the Photpass book, but I like the quality of the Shutterfly books better. If you know for sure you want to do a book that's the way to do it.

Also, for me--I was forced to do my book sooner when I did it via Photopass since the pictures expire 30 days after you input your photopass card numbers. It's something to consider!

I did the cd and book for our Honeymoon this summer. I surprised husband with the book and he loved it... especially the page where I have us "kissing around the World" :lovestruc

I am going the end of September 2011 and am planning to order the CD before we go. Im wondering how early i should order it. And do they send you a card to swipe ahead of time to take with you? how do they know you preordered the CD? Would it be wise or ok to order it this week? ( before i spend the money on something else lol)

I don't think there is a date you have to pre-order it by. Just make sure you do it before you leave.

And I think, because you'll create an account when you pre-order the CD, all you'll have to do once you get home is register the card you get at the park and have scanned every time a Photopass Photog takes your picture. :D

As for the original post. We did not know about CD pre-order back in 2008...and rarely saw photogs out...or if we saw them...there was a huge line. So, we ended up just making a book with the pictures we liked from the 30 or so we had...as well as uploaded our own pictures from the trip as filler. It's a great keepsake...and the backgrounds on the Photopass site are fantastic and all Disney in some way or another.

If you want a photo book that's totally Disney-fied after your trip, then pre-order both the CD and book. If you don't care for a Disney-fied book (and would prefer to make a book cheaper on another site), then just pre-order the CD. :D

Good luck. Hope that helps...and wasn't too confusing.

The photopass book is my favorite souveneir from each of our trips. I keep one out in my office at work, and we have a few out in our living room at home. I like to just walk by and pick them up and get a little Disney fix, especially if I am having a not so great day. The books are so much better now than they were just a year and a half ago because they have so many more backgrounds, add ons, and ways you can format them now. You don't have to go by their pre-set pages anymore. I know I would never get around to doing on on another website. The time deadlines on photopass force me to get it done (although technically, I know I could upload pictures anytime for the book)

thank you! it is very helpful. I'm going with my 3 sisters. Although it is only the first time for my 1 sister it is the first time we all went away together without the kids and hubbys. lol So i am seriously thinking about the book. Will have to add a little more though to my savings. lol Is the price they give the full price or are there taxes and handling fees?

I ordered the book for our May trip but haven't finished it as I'm waiting for the CD to work on it as it was too slow with all the pictures. That being said, I tried playing around with it and it seems like the problem is a pain to work with but it could only be me. I can't wait to receive my cd and get working on it tho. At this rate I will make this photobook with the photos from our May trip and August trip LOL

You will ahve to pay shipping on both items however if whe nyou order the actual photobook or cd at the end of the trip there's a discount out you can use it too and therefor you will have paid the lower price to prepurchase and on top of it get another discount.
