Eventhough we would just to love to have the option of having Free Dining I think yet again were going to early for the dining.....Aug 7th - Aug 21st. I have been ringing to see if there's a pin next to our name but there's nothing....

Sorry to agree...but I don't think they'll offer FD in the first half of August.

I know.....

But due to work commitments I can't change our dates......never mind maybe another excuse to go again....

Sorry to say, I think you will have to come up with another plan. Will the current promotion work for you? I got the FD pin and the start date of that one is Aug. 16th. However, that does not guarantee that the GP FD will be the same dates. In the past the dates are generally different by a week or 2. If it is early (16th) you could do a split stay, but then you have to deal with the ticket on the package coming later than your start date and it gets complicated.

Hi there!

I agree with most others that free dining has only been for the later part of August.

However, as I look at what you've got - if you don't mind splitting your stay into 2 reservations, you can take advantage of the 7 for 4 deal. You could book August 7 - 15th on the 7 for 4, then do a separate package checking in on August 15th for 6 nights.

This also may help you get the free dining. Currently, the 7 for 4 goes up to August 15th. With the economy the way it is, maybe they'll offer free dining for August 16th onward? Just a guess - I really have no idea.

In doing this, you'd want to be sure and link the two reservations as continuous. That lets Disney know it's the same person. You still would stand a small chance of having to change rooms, but linking them minimizes that chance.

At least that way you've got a discount for something now! :)

Thank you guys......at the moment we are holding a airline employee discount of 40% as suggested if the free dining does become available then we may split the reservation.....

Fingers crossed....

My SIL is in the same pickle. I feel for you OP.
