Should I get SW Early bird check in for New Years Day flight?

Our flight is at 6:45 PM on 1/1, but we will be at dinner at DHS at the 24 hour mark, so I am thinking I will pay the $40 for early bird. Will there be a lot of people already ahead of me- is it late to be doing this?

You can check in with your mobile phone if you have a web enabled phone. I would just stop by guest services after dinner and have them check you in. You could also have a trusted family member at home check you in also.

I went ahead and got the EBCI for our departure flight. For our arrival on Christmas day, I will just call at the 24 hour mark and hope we get a good number. I am getting worried b/c each flight is sold out.
