Hello all!! I was very excited to get a great deal on a 7 night Disney cruise in the mexican riveria!! I was hoping to add on 2-3 nights at DL first, but I am getting very discouraged with the prices. Here is what I have so far:

7 night cruise sailing on Jan 15th $2549

Airfare is less than 400/pp RT I was seeing anywhere from 320-400 depending on flight times

Disneyland 3 nights with park tickets was running anywhere from $1300-2000 :confused3 it seems so high to me! Did I do something wrong? Our dates were check in 1/12-1/15

I was really hoping to stay at aDisney resort, but with those prices, maybe I should look at a good neighbor hotel. Probably no chance renting points from a dvc member at this point.

It may end up making more sense to fly to Fl, visit WDW and cruise from FL. We are in CT, so to fly to Cali is about 6 hours, I believe. I was thinking the sweet deal on the cruise would make it worth it, but now I'm not sure!

There are almost always ticket and hotel discounts in January. Unfortunately they aren't typically announced until around Christmas or maybe a little earlier.

Well that is good to hear!! I wish that they'd be released sooner though...we really want to combine a cruise with either DW/DL so we need to decide sometime soon!

You may not be in position to do this. If you book a package(tickets and hotel) or just hotel, you can change it if a special offer comes along.

DL deals come out in the previous season that's why as suggested it will be around the 2nd or 3rd week when we hear what will happen.WDW comes out several months beforehand. This is due to the much shorter planning for a DL trip.

I would investigate rentingpoints if I were you. I works for usbut I do think it will be harder to rent points this next year, the renters seem to be drying up. This next August may be a challenge.

Though we haven't visited at this time in the last few years, we used to go every January. We got used to discounts, but one year (2006 or 2007, I think) none came out. If I'm remembering right, just one year before we had paid $119 at the DLH and the Grand Californian was $139, so it really stung to pay rack rate with only a measly 10% AP discount. There were lots of conventions (including NAMM) and the hotel was booked. Thank goodness we had booked early in hopes of applying a discount later, or we might not have had a room at all!

we ae in the same situation but its the week before (our cruise leaves Jan 8). We are DVC members but there are no rooms at the the DVC hotel for for early january. Looks like I am going to be stuck renting my points and trying to get a room at paradise pier.
