...trying to get a standard studio at BWV for a Th-Tu in November:confused3.
I am taking DH to his first F&W Festival and we are planning on participating in the 1/2 Marathon as well. I booked us a value studio at AKV at 11-months out. It leaves us with EXACTLY the number of points we will need for next year's trip. Because this is DH's first F&W trip and he has only ever stayed at AKV, OKW and the WL, I'd love for him to experience the BW area. He plans on retiring in 6 years and I want him to see how much fun it is to stay within walking distance of Epcot (and his favorite Grey Goose slushies:dance3:) on a trip without the kids.

I know I would have to waitlist this reservation. A standard studio at BWV would leave us about 15 points short for next year's trip so there is NO other room type that I could even consider. (I would have to utilize the one-time use points) Should I even bother? Has anyone had a waitlist for a standard studio come through during F&W? I figure that there are probably BWV owners already on a waitlist so my chances are so slim.

I have switched a BWV standard view studio reservation to a BCV studio at 7 months, so, BWV owners do change. I can see no downside to waitisting.pixiedust:

I knew I was going to be at BCV, but didn't have enough BCV points to book for a friend. This was 2 years ago at F&W time. I got the BCV studio!

Yes, you should go ahead and try the waitlist. My kids booked BLT at 11 months for the beginning of F&W last year. Successfully switched to BCV at 7 months and waitlisted BWV standard. (These were all for 1brs) Their waitlist came through and they even saved 41 points. It can happen. :thumbsup2 Good Luck!!

I hope you're right. I booked ss for f/w 2013 and am hoping to switch to bcv at 7 month mark!

There's no harm in trying. Yesterday morning I decided to waitlist BCV for my March trip. It ended up coming through a few hours later! I guess some times you get lucky.

As a plan B, you could buy one time points from Disney, since you'll try to switch at 7 months you'll be able use them. You can buy 24 this year and then the other you are missing next year. So you might also consider a garden view that is much easier to get. The olny problem is that you cannot buy the point to fill out a WL, you have to call MS.

As a plan C, you could use any number of points this year and next year transfer a few points into your account.
Both David and the Time share store can do this with very little hassle (maybe if the total of points is very low it can be difficult).
