should I do online check-in in this scenario?

Hi all, I have never used online check-in before and am wondering if I should for a trip I have in a few weeks. The reservation for our stay at Coronado Springs was made in my college daughter's account since she is an Annual Passholder and could get a good rate. She will be staying with me and my other daughter but she goes to college in Orlando and will not be able to arrive to the hotel until roughly midnight the day we arrive (me and her sister will be there by noon). We obviously will not want to wait that late to check-in but I'm not sure if she needs to be present to show her Annual Pass at check-in? Me and the little sister are both on the reservation and it is actually my credit card so maybe it does not matter at all if she is not there? If it DID matter, I'm wondering if online check-in would allow me to avoid the front desk and them asking to see the Annual Pass? Or do they not do that since they can look up an account and see that she has one? Finally, if she will be driving to us and needing to have her car there (we will be arriving by Magical Express) then when/how do I let them know (yes I know there is a charge) or does the gate to get in stay "manned" throughout the night and she just lets them know at midnight that she will be staying there and what room # she has? Thank you!

You can just tell the front desk your daughter who is staying in the room with you and has the AP isn’t arriving until late. They’ll tell you to just show it either when she arrives or in the morning.

Any adult on the reservation can check in. If you do online check in then you could receive a text with the room number that would allow you to skip the front desk. We have made many reservations with the annual pass discount and they have never asked to see our pass.

How does it work with them knowing we will have a car in our party? Do I need to tell them ahead of time at the desk, in which case that would mean I cannot do online check-in? Or if my daughter does not arrive until late that night or the next day with her car would she just talk with someone in the guard shack?

if there is someone at the guard shack, just say have reservation there.

I would definitely do online check in in this situation!

Once your room is ready you will get a text telling you your room number. If they want/need to verify the AP they will ask you to stop by at some point during the stay to show them the AP.

When your daughter arrives she can just scan her MB or give the guard her name for access, having a car has nothing to do with online check-in.

Don't worry - you may be overthinking just a bit :)
