Should I ditch the Hotel Del Coronado tomorrow and go to DL?

I'm having a fabulous trip at this gorgeous hotel in San Diego-my best friend is here for a meeting that ends this afternoon, and I just flew down to have a girl's trip with her, leaving husband and children behind. San Diego is a fabulous city, the hotel is beautiful....BUT

I live in Oregon and can't stand the thought of being this close to the parks and not going. I have a rental car. Thinking about heading to the park early tomorrow morning, our last full day here, and spending as much time there as I can (with my friend, of course).

What do you think? Should I do it? If so, would you buy a parkhopper ticket or just focus on one park (I love all the rides; shows and parades aren't as important to me). Any hints or suggestions or links for a great one day plan? How are crowds right now?

It's very exciting !

I say, drive to the park and have a great time!As for the hopper, if you haven't been to DCA, I say get a hopper and enjoy!
:yay:

To clarify, we spent a week at DL last year so I've been in both parks and love both their rides-though if I had to choose only one for a visit, I'd choose DL. I've never done a one-day trip and have no idea what's possible.

Do it do it do it. :) I'm going to San Diego in November for a girls trip (to see Madonna), and on the day everyone else flies away at 6am or so, I'm catching the Surfliner to go to Disneyland and DCA for the day, and oh yes, I'm planning on hopping. Then I'll catch a plane from that area instead of SD! :)

I've seen the zoo previously and not super-excited about SeaWorld. I'm sure it's fabulous, but it ain't Disney :)

The crowds are VERY non-existent. You could see a lot in 1 day.

However, San Diego is a wonderful city. The Wild Animal Park is incredible if you haven't been there. Old Town has some of the best Mexican food you will ever have. The GasLamp District is just great to wander through. Coronado is amazing. And the Hotel del... lucky you!

I would enjoy the treasures of San Diego since you haven't done that. However, if you chose to do a 1 day trip to DL, you could absolutely make it worth it given the low crowds.

I think we're going to do it :). I spent a week in SD a couple years back and so did get a chance to explore a little bit, but there's a lot more to see. Still, DL.....

Go for it! if it be Disneyland that ye be longin fer, then Disneyland it should be! :) that was at this time my best pirate imitation to be stated, he he! in homage to the wildest crew to set sail on the high seas, a pillagin and a plundering, even though I am always reminding them of wanting to avoid capture so as not to be doing the hempen jig!
So I reiterate go and enjoy your day at Disney land, I would just concentrate on visiting Disneyland, so therefore, a one day ticket, versus a hopper, it is fun too, to visit downtown Disney as well, I am a big proponent of Marcelines Confectionery, do try Disney's made on site, peanut brittle, and the chocolate caramel apple is really delish as well, there big chocolate chunk cookie especially after you re-heat it, is awfully nice as well, and just think, you can make your dentist happy at the same time, I probably should not admit this, but I went through an 8 ounce bag of peanut brittle, between last Tuesday and Wed. and then I bought another bag, at the candy store on Main St. on Thursday, for the trip back home the next day, well........ on Thursday, I don't know how it happened, he he ;) o.k. I do, but by the time I departed the Amtrak bus in my town, the bag was never more! so sad! (big sigh) I wonder if Disney can ship their peanut brittle? I should ask.
You will find a hidden Mickey on the pretty orange/white and black bag that Marcelines places your goodies into.
