I have two kids 11 and 9 year old boys, I ahve always stayed at a deluze resort because I stayed at All stars one year and hated it, but I am willing to try a moderate to save some money as it's the only way I can squeeze in a Disney trip this year as I have another vacation planned. Please give me your thoughts on the location, rooms, food courts, game room, pool etc. or anything else you think kids would want on these locations, as far as adults go, all we care about is a nice clean room. As an aside, I notice that they must be having trouble filling Animal Kingdon Lodge since I keep getting offers from Disney to meet me halfway between the deluxe price and the moderate price if I will stay there for Spring Break. It is the only one I have not stayed in and have heard great things about it from my friends who have stayed there, the only reason I can think of is location further away from the other parks, any thoughts on this?

If you are going to do a mod do CSR. It is the closest thing to a deluxe without the price. The pool is very large compared to the other mods and the slide is very long with an added surprise feature (a spitting jaguar). There are also several quiet pools. There are two arcades for the boys. The food court has the largest variety of food choices of the mods and the restaurant is excellent. Room choices vary depending on what you want to be close to. My family likes the Casitas because they are beautiful at night. They are close to the main building. The cabanas are also nice and very close to the main pool. Ranchos are the furthest from everything but CSR now has internal transportation which helps in the long walk.

If you can spring for AKL and your family is into animals and incredible architecture/design then definitely stay at AKL. It is a beautiful resort but not one to simply stay in. This is a resort that is a vacation unto itself as there is so much to see and do there. We've been known to spend a day or two never leaving the resort -- we just talk to the CM and take the tours and my DD participates in the various kids things that go on during the day.

Either way you can't go wrong.

We love CSR because it is truely a beautiful resort, has a great main pool are (the best of the mods) and terrific transportation along with 2 great places to eat.

Check out my CSR website below for pics, links and info.

Here is another thread asking the same as you. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=962204

we've stayed at FQ and CSR. My boys, 12 and 14, liked CSR better - more stuff to do. I don't know about POR, but I do know that some rooms are sooooooooooooo far away from the main building, that I wouldn't let them go alone. We drove over there, and it is just toooo far away. CSR is essentially a large circle, with golfcartlike transportation.
