Should I buy pass from this ebay seller

My concern would be where is he getting all these old tickets from and why does he have them? Does it strike anyone else as odd that he is selling old vouchers?

I am a big fan of eBay and would buy just about anything on there but, you are taking a chance with every item you buy. You need to ask yourself how you would feel if you tried to use those 2 AP vouchers and they did not work? You are out $500 and have little (if any) way to get that money back PLUS you will need to pay for a new AP (or other Disney ticket). Is this "deal" good enough for you to take that chance?

I have the impression you've decided to buy them and you want someone to validate your opinion! It seems that everyone here is saying the same thing: RUN AWAY FROM THIS DEAL!

I saw a segment on one of those "news magazines" like 20/20 or Hardcopy about a year ago dealing with ebay Disney tickets. They reported that Disney tickets are one of the biggest problem items on ebay. I've read more than one internet story that described a tearful moment at the turnstile after an ebay buyer discovered he'd been had. You can't really know for sure whether they're going to work until you're in the parks. By the time you discover the scam, you can't find the seller any longer. Disney isn't going to help you because the tickets clearly say "not transferable". The risk is just not worth the few dollars you MIGHT save.

Also, I must agree with the person who says that the Paypal guarantee is no good. Recently I purchased a small item that was sent to me incomplete, and the seller was a butt about it, so I turned it over to both ebay and Paypal. Paypal refused to "make good" on the deal because I didn't have an expert who could swear (at my expense) that a piece was missing from the item. Duh -- I had the original instructions from the box, and I had the ebay auction itself -- the pieces were clearly listed on the instructions, and one piece was clearly not there in the seller's picture. Paypal said the results were inconclusive. I was mad about it, but I could afford to take a $10 loss from this small item. Personally, I'd be hurting if I lost the money you're talking about here.

My advice: Skimp somewhere else. Buy 100% sure tickets.

I agree with everyone else, there is no way I would take a chance on something like tickets that you won't know are good until your at the gate. That just seems crazy to me, especially since they cost almost $500 bucks. I agree with Mrs Pete, skimp on something else.

Still too much $$ to take the risk. You also have to wonder if the people who left positive feedback had actually already tried to use the passes or not, or if they just gave ++ feedback because they received the passes in the mail from the Ebay seller....

Also, I believe you can only do a chargeback to Paypal within 30 days of purchase, so if you tried to use the passes more than 30 days after you purchased them, and they didn't work, you would have no recourse with the seller.

If you use a credit card and pay with paypal, most credit card companies give you up to a year to initiate a chargeback, so eventhough you wouldn't get your money back from paypal, most likely your credit card company would refund you.

I bought 7 day hoppers off ebay for our November trip. The seller had great feedback from people who actually used the tickets (didn't just leave feedback after they received them in the mail) and has an actual business in Orlando that they sell tickets from. I have no doubt in my mind my tickets are 100% legit, and I'm glad I got a decent deal on them and was able to use some of my paypal earnings from selling stuff to get them :)

Yes, you might get your money back, but NOT until after you have bought new tickets so at some point you have A LOT tied up in this.

Also, as I understand it these tickets are NOT even on EBAY. This is an "off line" transaction. The "fees" would be too much on EBAY?

Regardless if you buy something on ebay or something in an "off line" transaction, your credit card will still back you up. Afterall, you paid for merchandise that was misreprented (if that happened).

I guess what I was wondering is if the seller wants to deal with PayPal if the Ebay fees are too much?

There is one other consideration on the credit card. I am not sure of this, but I have heard that it is illegal to resale Disney Tickets. If that is true.... then you CC company does NOT have to help you. (I know that they don't have to help you do illegal things, there was an idiot here who tried to protest some drug purchase using his Visa. Not only did he have to pay, he got arrested! LOL!)

Frann- I saw this guy's feedback (I think it is the same guy) and I have to admit it looks legit- I just don't understand why he would be willing to let them go for $300 less than they are worth. Let us know how it turns out.
