Should I book this trip 1 day at a time?

For our Thanksgiving 2005 trip I want to reserve a BWV STD view 2BR. I can book this at my 11month window... which starts in a couple of days! Should I book this one one-day at a time?

I know that STD views go fast, and TG is a popular week. But in my 5 years as a DVC member I've never felt the need to reserve day-by-day... This one however makes me a little nervous.

What do you think?

Update: 12/22 - According to MS, they recommend booking this day-by-day. So... two days booked, 4 to go!

I think you should do day by day. For a standard view room, you want to make sure that you can get it and that is the only way to make sure.

Good luck. We went to the BW this year for Thanksgiving and it was fantastic.

I would at least call the first day and ask MS if it looks like a good idea to book day by day. They know how many calls they are getting and can advise you best. I usually have only done day by day when booking a GV at OKW.

standard view at ThanKsgiving - definitely do it every day.

but Diane is right - ask - they will probably say call every day.

you are smart to be asking now - instead of in January call and then be upset because you had to take a preferred view.

I would do day by day. Or at least every other day. A couple years ago I almost didn't get my standard view for early December when I called on the last day. The first day takes a little longer, just like any other reservation but when you call in for the additional days it only takes a minute.

I can't believe it's almost time to make next year's reservation!

Oh.. thats a good idea. Thanks Diane.

Not to hijack your thread but...........would you all suggest reserving day by day for a studio @vwl as well? I wasn't going to but we really want to stay here.

Thanks

For this past Thanksgiving we booked our 2BR all at once, at our 11 month window. Studio might be a different story, though... I think Diane's suggestion is a good one... Book your first day, and while on the phone with MS, ask their opinion. They can see how many rooms are out there, and can tell you if it's safe to wait a week.

I don't think you will need to for a studio at the VWL. IMHO I still think for either a standard view or Boardwalk view at the BWV, calling every day will make sure you get what you want.

For a New Year's reservation two years ago, I was calling for a standard 2BR day by day. Due to some work issues, I missed a day and ended up with 1 day of a preferred view room in the middle of my reservation.

If you are asking the question, then you feel that it may be a challenge to get your reservation. Go ahead and call everyday. It will make you feel better. I did for our studio at SSR for the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. I got it and felt as if I did it right, for me.

Good Luck!

I think for a SV at BWV during that time it should be day by day. I would definately do it.
