I have been toying with the idea of doing a "reveal" before the ceremony with just the 2 of us (where the bride and groom see each other for the 1st time)... I think it will make me not cry as much at the actual ceremoy, and also make it much more personal and private.
Now, when I mentioned this to my MOH she was shocked to think that I would want to see my DF before the ceremony (she even wants me to stay in a seperate room and be super traditional, now I have lived with my DF for 3 years and I cannot imagine waking up without him next to me on such an important day, so I promptly put her in her place, nicely of course
)
Now I am not going to let her "run the show" by any means, but I wonder if it will be better to do a "reveal" with just us and Misty (our photographer) before the ceremony or should we 1st see each other at the alter??
What are you going to do/did you do, for all of your big days??

I say go for the reveal!
It gave us a private moment together and was captured (unobtrusively) on film and video, and it allowed us to get lots of great pictures together before the ceremony. Plus, we got to enjoy our entire reception with our guests instead of missing the first part for pictures.

Then again, I also loved the look on my husband's face when he saw me for the first time walking towards him in all my finery at the wedding, so I really think you can't go wrong no matter which way you go.
I think it will make DF less nercous as well (he is super shy... not sure why he dates me actually lol!) So he wants to make it private, which I think is good for us.. although I honestly never thought I would say that, weird huh? I love the part of the wedding where the grrom sees his bride too
