Should Air Canada have their 2nd flight from YYZ - MCO not leave so late at night?

Last month when my family and I flew from YYZ - MCO we were scheduled on the 10:15 AM flight and some how we never had seats confirmed for that flight so we had to standby, however they got us 3 seats in Business Class along with the other standby passengers so it was not a problem. Had we not go on that flight the next one to Orlando left at 8:55 PM and we could not leave the Airport because we had cleared US Customs and they said it's easier to stay there and wait. Anyway I was thinking should Air Canada have their 2nd flight from YYZ - MCO leave a lot earlier then 8:55 PM, like around 3 or 4 hours after the 10:15 AM flight? Obviously there is a reason both flights are so far apart, because it's not like flying to New York City or Chicago where Air Canada has more then 2 per day.

Did you ever think that the reason the flights are so far apart is because they are using the same plane? It is a way to keep costs down.
I remember when AC had several non stop flights a day to and from MCO and now it has dwindled down to just two

Well usually there are a few more than that in between! I have a few flts booked with them over the next couple of months and they are all different times...one at 1630 dep

I can't speak to what the flts were in Dec..but I looked through the coming weeks randomly and there are 4 non stops and many more connecting?

There used to be certain times of the year that AC had no flights from YYZ to MCO. A few years ago we had to fly to Tampa and then drive to Orlando. I think it was during September or October. So I guess flights at any time are better than none!

But we rarely have any use for AC now, since they prohibited pets in the cabin.

We are not using A/C fort the first time to Orlando. DIRECT flight from Wpg to Orlando and cheap changed our minds.
A/C has always been okay but this late flight is a challenge! We came into MCO late (snowstorm in YYZ not A/C's fault of course) and we were driving in the dark (no GPS at that time) and it was horrendous to find our hotel!

We just booked AC from Toronto for our trip in April. We're leaving at 630 am and return from Orlando is something like 8 pm ish.

We've been on that late night flight to MCO a number of times in the past few years. Since we have to catch it via a connection, it does offer many more options than the morning flight does. That said, it's definitely a recipe for a REALLY late night if you then use DME to get to your WDW Resort! (Even worse, is if you've made an error in judgement and booked an offiste hotel that isn't at all what it advertised itself to be ... but at 2 in the morning, with kids wanting to sleep, you pretty much have to suck it up and deal with getting onsite as early as possible the next morning.)

So, yes, earlier - even if only an hour or two, would be better!

the 8.55pm is also used as a connecting flight from London Heathrow to Orlando. I have used this flight, when I did there was heaps of others from the UK on it. Perhaps this route is helping fill their 777 trans-atlantics which are probably a lot more lucrative.
