This may seem like a weird question, but need others opinions. I never wear shorts. Other then board shorts with my swimsuit. I am always in pants - usually jeans. We go to WDW in October 18-23. Should I buy and bring shorts, or just stick with my jeans?

We're from Ohio and jeans are my mainstay around home but in Disney, they stay home. It's just too hot and humid and the occasional shower can make a pair of jeans very uncomfortable to downright unbearable. I have shorts I take, they are my strictly vacation to WDW shorts, and I must admit I have one pair of mens capri style pants when the weather gets alittle chilly. I believe its more of the material then the leg length, jeans just don't breathe, air in or out and it's down right hot in Florida anytime of the year and you do alot of walking. Just my own personal view on jeans, females may differ.

Late october is still pretty warm at WDW, though the humidity usually drops to comfortable levels by that time of year. Still, I am much more comfortable in shorts than I am in jeans, especially if I get wet from a water ride or a passing rainshower - jeans stay wet and uncomfortable for a long time.

Take a pair of shorts with you and evaluate whether you need them each day. I recommend cargo shorts - the extra pockets are quite useful when wandering the parks.

I would def. take some shorts. Ann Taylor Loft has cute shorts that are modest but still young looking...

I'm going to be there during the same time you are, and I'm definitely taking shorts. I was there in October once before and it was too hot for jeans during the day. And I totally agree with Ann Taylor shorts. They should be on sale right now, and they are cute and comfortable without showing too much skin.

I am a pants girl too. I also wear capri's during the summer months, but I avoid shorts. However, when we went in April I brought 1 pair of shorts and wore them twice. I found myself wishing I had brought more with me. It was warm and the shorts were comfortable. Plus, in the world your not trying to impress anyone, so if, like me, you uncomfortable with your legs, that goes out the window and is replaced by comfort!

I would not wear jeans if going on any of the water rides. Why not see if you can find the pants that have a zipper by the knee that you can unzip and make in to shorts

I'm not a fan of shorts really. We usually go the last week of Oct, and I usually pack capris and a couple pairs of Bermuda shorts. Last year there was a cold snap that week and I needed jeans, so keep an eye on the weather forecast!

I Love jeans and wear them all the time. My husband wears jeans but also wore shorts to Disney. We don't do water rides so we don't worry about getting wet. I wore shorts to disney once when i was little and my leg got burned on one ride from a hot seat and I stuck to another ouch. I personally will never wear shorts at all again even if its 100 degrees out. Wear what you are comfortable in. The next time if you want shorts, buy them.

Lisa:thumbsup2

It's much too hot and humid in October for long pants, IMO. Upper 80s and humid. I wear shorts pretty much exclusively.

I do bring one pair of capris, and wear long pants (velour sweatpants) on the plane, since it's too cool in Washington State to wear them to the airport here. But otherwise, it's shorts every day. I think you'd be miserable in jeans, or would be looking for scissors to make cut-offs!!

I don't like wearing shorts, but I have found that the bermuda shorts or capris (the shorter ones) are a perfect length. Long enough to cover my icky upper legs, but short enough to be cool. I think jeans would be uncomfortable in the heat.

My sister, my son 29 & I will be there oct. 11-17th the weather is usually nice in oct. I've been in the fall many times and would suggest shorts or capris pants
maybe a lite sweater for evening as it does cool off. We've been to Disney over forty times.:dance3:

I would never be able to make it through a day in Disney wearing jeans. Waaaay too hot. I wear shorts. Although I'm from Rhode Island so Florida feels really hot to me. And I get hot really easily. But my mom doesn't get hot as easily as me and she's always in shorts or at least capris in Disney

I've lived in FL my whole life and while its definitely shorts-weather, I find that I feel much more comfortable in capris (granted I am heavy - size 16 - and I don't like my thighs rubbing together!).

I would not bring all jeans, especially because I see you are coming from Canada. October may be cool down here (it's when Mother Nature gets her Mood Swings on and changes from one day to the next!), but FL's version of 'cool' is not the same as Canada's version of 'cool', right?

I would say wear shorts or capris, but bring a pair or 2 of jeans, just in case. They won't take up that much space in the luggage (wear one pair on the plane down), and if you don't need them, then yay, but if you DO need them, double YAY!

I would definitely switch to shorts for your trip. It can make the difference between being very hot & unbearable to making it very manageable for you. My parents went in October once and it was just as bad as the summer with the heat & humidity. We were just there in August and i did everything i could to keep myself comfortable (neck fans, misters, keeping my hair up) and found it very manageable despite the heat & humidity.

i understand if you shorts but even board shorts may get uncomfortable. i like short shorts because they keep yo ucool and comfortable if you happen to get wet. i would say try mid tigh shorts. theyd probably work.

If you must wear something long than i would at least go with a very very lightweight capri or bermuda short

Ok I give in lol. I'll be picking up some shorts. I don't mind my legs, I have just always been more comfortable in pants. But I will trust everyone on the fact that I will be more comfortable in Shorts there. And as the one poster mentioned, I am from Canada, so my definition of cool and FL's definition of cool are two totally different categories lol. Thanks everyone for helping me out.
