Hi! I am trying to get some lightweight pants w/ elastic waists for my son...he's going to be 4 soon and is outgrowing the jon-jons and such...and he is big too! He is in a 5/6 right now and growing out of everything! I bought him some new t-shirts and had them monogrammed in May and he can't wear them anymore b/c his belly button is showing!! Argh!! Anyways, I have got to find some clothes for him for our trip at the end of September and want some cute shorts or lightweight pants for him to wear. I want the kind you get at Kelly's Kids or ragsland...and actually am about to purchase a few shorts from KK on clearance but I was wondering if any of you knew of a place you could purchase these simple shorts or pants online that might make them custom or somewhere that sells similar clothes??

I plan on getting him some new short sleeve (and a few long sleeve too for later in the fall) t-shirts monogrammed or appliqued with cute boys stuff on them to go with the basic shorts/pants.

Any advice?:confused3

Check around at the local consignment stores to see if they have any summer clothes left. We only have one small one here but they had all of their summer items marked down to $1 each! I picked up several things for DS to wear on our December trip.

You can always check ebay too. I love to dress DS in Kellys Kids, Ragsland and smocked items but it is nearly impossible to find those brands up here in MD so I have to shop online or load up at the stores when I go visit my parents in Charleston. (You can always send all those outgrown jonjons this way.) ;)

Hey! Thanks for the advice! I am gonna try and check out the local consignment store in the area where I teach b/c it's usually had nice stuff. The problem I seem to run into is that by the time a boy is almost 4, his stuff is not in nearly as nice of condition as I would like...I guess the older the kids get, the rougher they get on their clothes. So the pickings so far at a few consignment sells have been slim to none...pooh!

I used to frequent the consignment sales b/c I could get great deals on jonjons and the like...gone are those days I suppose...until we have baby #2 at least!! :)

Oh girl...it is ashamed you don't live close by b/c I would love to loan you some great clothes...I have tons of Kelly's Kids, Bailey Boys, Ragsland, etc. but I am holding out giving them away permantely until we have another one...genetics on my dh's side of the family will pretty much guarantee us another boy!! :) Still, glad to know I'm not the only one who likes to play dress us with their ds!! HA!!

Wish me luck as I search for some last minute summer clothes...I just hate to spend a bunch of $ on clothes that he won't wear for much longer and will more than likely be tooooo big to wear next summer. Argh!

I want to dress DS like a little boy as long as I can! He is already in 24 months and 2Ts (and even some 3Ts depending on the brand) and he is only 15 months old. He has already outgrown the smocked Dumbo jonjon he is wearing in the pix below from his first haircut at the barber shop on Main St.

I wish I lived close enough to borrow clothes too. :)

Oh, also check to see if there is a Strasburg store or outlet near you. I have seen some absolutely adorable outfits there in the size range for your son. They aren't cheap but they are precious!

OMGoodness! I TOTALLY forgot about the Strausburg store in our city...we have a huge outlet mall here! Duh!! With the Labor Day sale coming up, I might can hit that! Thanks for the reminder!!:thumbsup2
