So, who has taken the shortest trip and how did you work out the details???
I know someone here went for just a day...I'm thinking maybe 2-surprise trip but I dont know...just thought I'd ask and see what touring plans others had.

We've gone for a few hours a couple of times. OK, we live in S Florida and were in Orlando anyway and we had Annual Passes. So, I'd say my shortest trip would be about 4 hours.
enjoy,
Duane

Our shortest trip was from about 2pm on Saturday till about 10 am on Sunday.

April 2005. Hubby had gotten a new car with a navigation system in it. A couple of weeks after he got the car, on Thursday evening, we realized our weekend was open. ROAD TRIP!!! I got us a hotel for Friday night for the drive down and a hotel in Orlando for Saturday night. (Nothing we could afford was open on Disney property). We left right after work on Friday, spent the night in Macon, finished the drive on Saturday. We spent Saturday afternoon at Magic Kingdom, then Saturday evening at the Studios.

On Sunday morning, we stopped by Epcot and rode Soarin, then started for home.

Our shortest trip was 7 or 8 days, so I guess I'm not going to win this. :)

In college we drove down for a 2 night 1 day trip to the MK. All I remember from it is being really exhausted!! I am planning a 2 night 3 day trip this January, We are going to arrive in Orlando at 11:00 am, and hope to check into the WL by 12 or 12:30. We plan on going to EPCOT that evening, MK the next day (with a mid-afternoon nap), and AK the final day - leaving late that afternoon. I think it will be fun but fast paced...

We leave Friday mornging, going to the MNSSHP Friday night and then we are flying back Saturday morning. (we're in MD). I know, I'm crazy.....but I"m loving it!! :rotfl:

We surprised our kids with 1 night after our cruise in Aug. It was the most fun! We were first off the ship (about 7:30) arrived at the Dolphin by 9:00 checked in and at Epcot by 9:30. Our goal was to ride all our favorites (mostly the "big" rides) by the time we had to leave the next day (4:30) We hit Epcot, MGM and MK. Road all the headliners in each park and got very little sleep! What a great memory though!

Similar to DisneyCrazymom, our shortest trip was right before a cruise (less than 24 hours). However, we did get to visit Downtown Disney and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Our kids loved it because they didn't think they were going to get to do any of the parks. It didn't really feel like a short trip, because of the wonderful seven night Disney cruise! I don't know which Disney vacation I like better anymore - the cruise or WDW itself. I guess we'll have to go back to each a few times to figure it out.

I went for one day to join my husband while he was on a buisness trip at a dtd hotel. We did a water park since our kids were young at the time and had not wanted to try that with them yet.
We did a three day trip with the kids for the dvc grand opening of ssr. It was nice because it was a surprise for the kids. We were going back in Nov. so we did not feel we had to do it all.
Last Jan. we were on the 7 day Disney cruise and came home to a snowstorm in the northeast. Imagine how upset we were that we had to stay in the area for the day and got a surprise day in the Magic Kingdom. That day has my best Disney memories because it was so unplanned and all a bonus.
If I was anywhere near disney where I could make a roadtrip for even half a day I would do it.
Once we are in a position where we do not have to have coverage for the kids, we would roadtrip for a day or two. Let's look at it like it is, even a few hours in Disney is better than being anyplace else in the world.

My shortest trip is next week! I fly down Thursday and then Sunday come home. The plan is really simple; no plan! :rotfl: DH and I were down in July and originally he was going to come with me next week. But alas, work is preventing that so my best friend is joining me. We'll hit the Food and Wine Festival and then just do whatever strikes our fancy at the time! :thumbsup2

Our shortest trip was last weekend. Flew down from NYC friday afternoon, went to MNSSHP that night, MGM saturday, Magic Kingdom Sunday and flew home Monday.

1 day - Drove down early in the morning in order my friend to have her interview at casting. I went to Downtown Disney while she was doing this and then we drove back to Atlanta. We didn't go to the parks, but we were on property :goodvibes

1 night! I lived in Tampa at the time and my friends and I went to SeaWorld for the weekend, but we stayed at PO Riverside for the night. My shortest trip to the actual parks was the next weekend. We were there for 2 days and did MK and AK. There was no real planning involved. They let me pick which 2 parks to do since they had APs and went all the time. We called for the hotel on the way to Orlando and took what we could get.

Ours was in 2001. After dealing with family in FL, checking in on my honey's mom after her heart attack, we visited WDW for the first time together. We stayed offsite. The room was only $29/night, with a king bed and a fridge at the Comfort or Days Inn on I-Drive.....memory is fuzzy on that point now. We spent only one day at Disney in a park and it was at MGM. We spent a day shopping in Orlando and then went to see La Nouba. We also took in a pre-season Braves game at WWoS.

Our next shortest was our trip last month. We flew down, checked in and toured MGM on 9/20. We spent 9/21 at AK. We went to DTD & MNSSHP on 9/22. We flew home on 9/23.

Our longest trips to date were 6 nights each in 2002, 2003, & 2005. Maggie

My shortest trip was a day trip to the Magic Kingdom. WAAAAAY too short for me, but at least I got to go! :teeth:

Thanks for all the replies...
Here's the scoop...I live in Upstate NY...and my 29th birthday is coming up...unfortunately, it is Valentines Day and really not the best time to go b/c of crowds and school breaks.
So, I am trying to figure out what to do...BF isnt so great with the romance thing so I just make it happen and he usually does something great in the process...but when it comes to making plans thats my job...being wonderful while we are there is his
So, I can go to NYC for 1 night / 2 days for about $600 (hotel included as well as taxi to and from JFK) OR Disney for 2 with airfare for 3 days / 2 nights at Pop Centry for $1000....
I really enjoy both places. (ok I love Disney) but NYC and Disney are the 2 places that I can never seem to get enough of either one. this time I would like to stay in a NYC hotel and eat at Serendipity...At Disney...I want to ride the headliners...and go to AK again...and finish Epcot...or well try...

Maybe a Disney Headliner Trip? Park Hoppers for all...running from park to park is the best. I dont know any thoughts? (we just got back 2 days ago and really miss it already :guilty: )

I am sure I could do Disney for 1 night and 2 days but that would require another early morning wake up...

Decisions...Decisions...Decisions...

We went up for a day. My inlaws came down from NJ for a quick weekend and gave us no notice so we could not take time off from work. We drove up on a Sunday morning (3 hours drive) and came back the same night

I will never do that again...we were so tired be barely made it home.

Disneycrazymom-Hello neighbor-Creve Couer, MO (although I grew up in Bridgeton) here!

My shortest trip well be next week. I got a "kitchen pass" and my best friend from grade school & I are going for less than 1.5 days (no hubbies and no kids this time).

We are going to MK just for MNSSHP on Thur 10/19 & hope we can get in at 4 pm :goodvibes and will stay till close. Then on Fri 10/20 we are going to hop from MGM to Epcot. Thus, total trip time at WDW is less than 1.5 days. Considering we are coming all the way from St. Louis, Mo it's are far distance to go for such a short stay at Disney.

But nobody can compare to Disney---so here we come!! :moped:

My shortest trip was my first trip there with my son (2 1/2 at the time). We flew from Hartford to Orlando on Friday, went to "Disney Village Marketplace" Friday night. Did Magic Kingdom Saturday, EPCOT on Sunday, and flew home on Monday. Labor Day weekend 1991 (i think).
