Shortening reservation at AoA

So I am considering shortening the time we stay at AoA during our upcoming trip in October. We are going for two weeks and I know the hotel is pretty much booked solid (we are in the LM rooms.) The thought of dealing with all those people at the hotel plus all those who will come just to look at the hotel make me think I would rather do a split stay as I don't like huge crowds (Yes, I know this is Disney World!) However, since there are no LM rooms available I can't cancel and rebook as I will lose my room. Is it possible for me to just shorten my stay without losing my room? We are currently booked from 10/19-11/2 but I would like to only stay 10/19-10/21. Anyone know? Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question (my guess is that there is a way to keep the part of it you want). However, I sure would love to have your LM on 10/26. There are none to be had at the moment.

Yes, you can modify your ressie to reflect less nights and it will not effect your room. Just make sure that's what you want to do before you do modify it because once you take nights away, you most likely will not get them back later on if you decide you want to stay there longer. Also make sure you make it clear to the CM that you are just modifying your current ressie and not cancelling. I always book a few extra nights more than I need just in case I have to change my dates a little due to flights or something else as it's easier to take nights away than it is to add them later on. HTH :).

agree do not give up the rooms until your sure as once you do they hard to get back. but AoA is so spread out will not be any more crowded than any other resort. and the pool largest on any resort property. were still staying at POP and let the new ness wear orr of AoA

We were at Pop in December last year and were there for two days into the Christmas season when the hotel was full (we know as we tried to add a day.) I HATED it. The food court was slammed and the lines for the buses were ridiculous. I don't want to have that experience again. We definitely want to experience AoA, but I don't know if I want to deal with a full hotel for two weeks. I am trying to convince the hubby to do the Royal rooms at Port Orleans Riverside instead!!!

You really can't compare Christmas holiday crowd levels with those in Oct. The fall crowds are much less. I'm sure AOA will be crowded due to its recent opening and everyone (well a lot of people anyway) wanting to check it out. But it still probably won't be as bad as you are imagining it.

If you are still sure that you want to do a split stay, then make sure you have everything set up before you shorten your AOA reservation. Get that second resort reserved first. Don't forget that you will be required to put down a separate deposit for it when you book. Only then should you modify your first booking.

I'm assuming that you don't have the dining plan?? Because if you do, it will make things a lot more expensive if you want the dining plan for your second resort.

Yes, the parks will be less crowded than Christmas. But a full hotel at AoA I am assuming will be similar to a full hotel at Pop as far as crowds. At least we will have our car if the buses are too crowded....Not totally sure what to do yet. I am guessing they won't offer free dining for LM rooms in October since they are all full, so if we switched after a few days we may be able to get free dining. But then we will have to buy extra park tickets. Oh the dilemmas!
