Just a quick review for our short trip this week. We haven’t been to WDW for 18 months and we usually go 1-2 times per year. This was also the first trip by ourselves without our DD25. I couldn’t stand it anymore and just said “WE’RE GOING!” So we made a quick 4 day trip. We hit most of our do not miss restaurants and one new one.

First night=Earl of Sandwich. Sunday night a week before Christmas and DTD is pretty packed. We arrived at Earl to a long line but it went fast. I always get the Original, always. I’d like to be able to go more often because I would love to try all their sandwiches but I sincerely love the Original. As usual it was GREAT! DH got the Italian which he almost always gets and he devoured it so I guess he liked it too.

2nd day=Biergarten for lunch. This is one of our faves. They had the same stuff as they usually do. Most everything was really good. The schnitzel was really dry though and I didn’t like the paprika sauce they served it with. The pork roast was heavenly though…wonderful. And of course I have to have the red cabbage and spaetzel…yum!

3rd day=Off site at Flipper’s pizza. Very good.

4th day=Le Cellier for the Candlelight Processional package. How I lucked into this I’ll never know but the stars were with us. We had the rock shrimp and the cheese soup for appetizers. Both were good. DH got the strip steak and creamed potatoes. His steak was perfect! He let me have a bite. Very flavorful, juicy and tender. I had the pork chop for a change. The chop was very good, well cooked, juicy and flavorful. They serve it with a bbq flavored glaze. The side served with the chop is mac n cheese. This was very disappointing. The pasta was pretty much dried up and not very cheesy. Topped off the meal with crème brulee….oh yeah….

Last day=Liberty Tree Tavern at MK for lunch. We really didn’t have anything planned for lunch. We wandered over to Be Our Guest but the line was enormous. I have always wanted to eat at LTT but we have never fit it in. So we walked up just to see if they had any openings, not expecting any, especially at noon but were surprised with a seating in about 15 minutes! I’m glad we tried. I had the pilgrims feast which was good but not fantastic. I definitely enjoyed it but it was not any more special than say, Bob Evans. DH had the hamburger and fries. We also had the crab & artichoke dip which is served in a bread bowl and very good!

‘Ohana for dinner. We always do ‘Ohana. It keeps getting horrible reviews and we are always worried that this might be the time that our experience will be bad. But again, Ohana was the best meal we had. We were seated just as the Christmas Party fireworks began. We had great servers. They brought out the food quickly but not too quickly. All the meats were cooked very well and were juicy and flavorful. The chicken was especially good this time and I am not a tremendous chicken fan. The shrimp is my favorite and it was wonderful. The only complaint would be that the noodles were cold but they still tasted good but who goes there for the noodles anyway? Leaving room for the bread pudding was difficult but we managed. This meal was a great ending to our quick trip!
