We just decided to make another trip to WDW in October. Our exact dates are flexible, any of the 4 weeks in October. We are also flexible regarding the resort. But we absolutely want a 1br villa. So, do we have a chance based on the above or is it too late.

I think you have a good chance, BWV and BCV will most likely be booked due to the Food and Wine Fest. but OKW and SSR should have availablity, and you might get in at VWL.

Good luck and have a great trip.

Call as soon as you can to book something. At 60 days ahead of arrival, MS often "shares" any unbooked points inventory with CRO. CRO can then rent it out to the general public for cash.

So at 60 days or less ahead of arrival, there will be even more competition for any rooms that may remain. If you want to go in October, the 60 day mark is fast approaching.

Good luck!

Wow - that 60 day thing that CarolMN mentioned has me worried now. We have points in the "holding account" that we can't even use to book with until 60 days prior to arrival. Now I worry that if there is availability for when we want to go - they will have turned it over to CRO and we won't be able to get it! We are hoping to go Dec. 19-23rd, but can't use our points until Oct. 19th - or 60 days prior to check-in. I hope to never, ever have points in "holding" again - it's too frustrating since DVC has molded me into someone who plans 11 months ahead!

Wow... I was thinking to ask the same question that how likely is it to get 4-studios for 3 or 4 night on the Veteran's Day weekend in October.

Although, I know it is unlikely, I just want to ask you people before I call tomorrow morning...

Just to clarify - if there is availability, you will still be able to book. It's just that if someone calls CRO before you call MS for the same dates, the CRO customer will get the room. So the message is to call as soon as you can.

Good luck - 12/19 to 12/23 is tough to book at the WDW DVC resorts even if you aren't using holding points. Hope it works out for you!

I just called MS this a.m. to book a last minute trip. We just realized that the kids have a 4 day weekend in October, and we are not sure when in the next year we will make it back down. We had 40 points banked that we needed to use. Anyway, we are 6 people so we had to have a 2 bedroom, also requested non-smoking. I tried to get 10/7-10/10 and was told only OKW was available and only for the first 3 nights. I asked about 10/6 and was able to get that so the kids will miss one day of school. We don't like for them to miss but DH got a good deal on the airfare. OKW is fine, we would like to try all of the resorts in time (we own at BCV and were there last March.) It seems that not many dissers use a 2 bedroom so I was surprised it was so tough to get, but I'm glad we got it! A quick Disney fix is better than nothing!!!! Good luck to all of you, MS was very busy this morning!

add to the above....This is laceemouse, NOT Toxic Ferret....I am on the kids mac and my oldest DD13 is a ferret fanatic!!!! Lacee

We were able to book SSR the final week of October. Woo-Hoo!

I called today for 9/11 thru 9/14 and everything was available for a studio at WDW except BCV.
Then i realized it was 9/11. Think that is why so many options so last minute?

It is the only weekend we can go in September and all of August is out. I had dismissed October cause I thought DVC was very popular then. So there could still be a chance for anything other than the Epcot resorts? maybe I should look into that month, too.

We just want to get away for a few days. Is October busier than September as far as crowds?

Yes the Food and Wine festival has become a big draw. October also has Columbus Day. In September I think people are still recovering from summer vacation but by October want to get away again.

I also see the Mickey Halloween party thing is then, too.

We have never done either! Maybe we should try for that first weekend in October instead? Think we can at least get VWL?

Geez... Hubby is out of town. I hate making decisions on my own.

So September with no special events and less crowds and four DVC resorts to choose from or two events with crowds. And then again maybe no DVC availability.

If F&W all that great?

Isn't this the trip without the kids? If so, seems like a good time to find out!

Best wishes -

P.S. An experienced person like yourself should have no trouble dealing with the level of "crowds" you'll find in October. It's not remotley close to Christmas, Easter or even summertime and the weather is so much nicer. Bugs gone and hurricane season pretty much done. :teeth:
