I know you're here because you are so excited about my five food pictures! My DH and I took a quick trip in May to celebrate my birthday and we left the kids at home. It was wonderful! We have never gone anywhere alone together without them and it was worth every penny. We flew to Orlando from Kansas City, and after jumping on the Magical Express we got to POP around 3:30. We got an awesome room and headed to the food court because we were starving! I had big plans to head to DTD to visit my friend The Earl of Sandwich, but we couldn't have made it. Too hungry.
Oh, by the way, we were on the QSDP for our weekend and we LOVED it. I have come to the point in my Disney vacations that I want to eat when I want to eat and I don't want to be tied down to ADR's. (That being said, when we go back next month with the kids we are on the DDP!)
Billy got a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a carrot cake. I got the Greek salad, tie-dye cheesecake and a giant Coke. (I love Coke and I don't drink it very much at home.) The bacon cheese burger was good and it hit the spot. But the Greek salad was WONDERFUL! I would suggest this to anyone.
Best Greek salad ever!
I have always wanted to try the tie-dye cheesecake. I have to say, I was disappointed. It didn't taste like anything and it didn't have that good cheesecake texture. Oh well, at least I can say that I tried it!
Tie-Dye Cheesecake
We headed to Hollywood studios for the night and I found my new husband:
Isn't he handsome?
The next day was my actual birthday and we started off at the MK by having my favorite breakfast at the Main Street Bakery: the ham, egg and cheese croissant and we mixed it up a little adding a blueberry muffin. This is a picture of the rapture that this blueberry muffin induced. It was very good and the croissant was excellent as ever.
After riding BTMR, we headed to the Animal Kingdom for Everest and Dinosaur. After the rides we were hungry again and ready for lunch. We had never eaten at the Flame Tree so we decided to go for it. We both got the rib platters, giant cokes and desserts. I also added a order of onion rings.
Birthday Ribs!
The ribs were good but very greasy. It was a super hot day and a giant plate of ribs might not be your best option when you are sweating, but oh well. The cole slaw was gross and I don't eat baked beans. My Dh said they were, "ok". The onion rings were really good but it was SO hot outside that they just didn't sit well on our stomachs. There were ducks everywhere and they were getting pretty aggressive. One kind of pecked at my leg and wanted some of my ribs. Gross! Why a bird would eat ribs is beyond me, but there's no accounting for taste. This would have been a wonderful meal if it was about 20 degrees cooler outside. You know how it gets at Disney when you are so very hot and nothing will help except for a pool and a nap? I was at that point so we headed back to POP.
Coming up: no more pictures (unless I can get them off my husband's phone) but a couple more reviews.
Thanks for reading!!!
