Hi! Me and DH got back about a week ago from our four day Disney trip. This was the first trip anywhere without the kids. We did a split stay between YC and AKL. This was a first time at both resorts. We would definitely stay at both resorts again. AKL is absolutely GORGEOUS! We checked into YC first and we were picked for family of the day! pixiedust: Anyway, here is our dining line up:

Day 1
Lunch- Chefs de France
Dinner- Flying Fish

Day 2
Breakfast- Kouzzina
Lunch- Wild Africa Trek
Dinner- V&A

Day 3
Breakfast- Kouzzina (again)
Lunch- San Angel Inn
Dinner- Jiko

Day 4
Breakfast- Boma
Lunch- Sanaa

We headed over to France right after we checked into the YC. We have eaten here before and we really liked it. After reading some great reviews on here I knew what we had to try.

A la flamme Alsacienne (Alsace specialty Flatbread)
with crème fraîche, onion and bacon

This was delicious! Very light even though it may look on the heavy side.

Next we got

Cassolette d’escargots de Bourgogne au beurre persillé (Escargot)
Casserole of Burgundian escargots baked in parsley and garlic butter

This was the first time I tried this. DH had it one time before when we ate here. These were very good and we would definitely get them again. There was so much parsley and garlic butter that you could hardly tell you were eating a snail.

I'm in! We are staying at AKL in 2 weeks. It's our absolute favorite resort. So glad you loved it!

Dinner was at FF tonight. We ate here for the first time in November of last year and it was first on the list of restaurants to go back to. We shared an appetizer and dessert but got our own entrees.

Yellowfin Tuna Tartare and Crispy Tempura Tuna-Vegetable Sushi Roll
Hijiki and Wakame Seaweed, Yuzu Tobiko, and Wasabi Foam with a Sweet-and-Spicy Sauce

We eat a lot of sushi and this was so good!

Next I got for my entree

Oak-grilled Maine Sea Scallops
Confit Artichoke Bottoms, crispy Young Artichokes, Local Tomatoes, Basil, Pecorino Romano, and Mascarpone-laced Risotto di Carnaroli

This dish was awesome! The scallops were great and that risotto was to die for!

That resort is absolutely stunning! I know a lot of people avoid it because they think it is too far away from the parks but we didn't find that to be an issue at all. We timed the ride from Epcot and it took 12 minutes. We did stop at Kidani Village first but only took a few more minutes to get to Jambo House. We would gladly stay there again!

Your lineup sounds great.

Everything we ate on this trip was delicious! Thanks for joining in!

Pity that I have problems with overweight ;/

Haha! With the amount of food we ate on this trip, we shouldn't have to eat again for weeks!

Last time we ate here DH and I shared the signature duo of the potato wrapped snapper and charred strip steak. This time DH ordered just the steak as he loved it so much last time.

Char-crusted Angus New York Strip Steak
Thyme-roasted Garlic Vinaigrette-laced Panzanella Salad of Local Greens, Tomatoes, Sweet Peppers, Cucumbers, and Pole Beans with Local Artisan Bread Croutons, and Classic Sauce Foyot

He loved this!

We shared the creme brulee for dessert. I took a picture after we dug in. Sorry!

Classic Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brûlée
Breton French Butter Biscuits with Blackberry and Strawberry accentuations

This was also very good. We left very happy and very full!

YUM! Those scallops look so good!

They were so good. Glad I tried something different. We ordered different entrees on this trip except for at Jiko which was nice so we had more food to try.

I love the food at Flying Fish. My DH lovessssss the steak

This is definitely on his list of favorites. He hadn't stopped talking about it since last November when he first had it!

We headed to Kouzzina for breakfast. Since this restaurant was going to be closing, I wanted to try it.

Again I forgot to take a picture before we started eating. Sorry!

We both ordered

Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast
Two Poached Eggs, Kalamata Olive Toast, Artichoke Spread, and Sweet Potato Hash with choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage

This was delicious!

After breakfast we headed over to AK. We were booked for the 10:15 trek which was awesome and I highly recommend it. On the trek they served us this

Chicken curry salad
Sun-dried tomato hummus and mini pita
Marinated tandoori shrimp
Smoked salmon roulade with dill
Air-dried beef and prosciutto
Fresh fruit marinated in mint and ginger

All of this was incredible! It was enough food to fill us for our lunch. We were eating at V&A later so we didn't want to fill up too much anyway.

I have been dying to try this restaurant for a long time but it never fit into the schedule when travelling with the kids. So this was our chance. After dining here I would absolutely make the time to come back here on our next trip. It was truly a spectacular dining experience! Here we are at the start of our dinner.

We first were started with the Amuse- Bouche

This was an octopus dish. I don't recall the exact description. I am going to say that every dish we ate here was incredible and we could have literally licked our plates clean ;). But since we were in such a nice establishment, we decided to control ourselves.

Just finding your thread and subbing in. Everything looks amazing so far. Loving all the artichokes, which are my most fav food ever. Hoping the flying fish scallops are still on the menu when we are there later this month.

Next we had the Pintade Fermiere with Marinated and Pickled Heirloom Tomatoes

And also the Jumbo Lump Crab with Cucumber Gelee

Hi! Thanks for joining! I wasn't sure if anyone was following along!

Great reviews and photos! Your V&A's reviews are making me excited- we'll be there next week. Looks amazing so far!

Your photos are wonderful!! How wonderful that you got to have an adult vacation and try some of the things you hadn't been able to do with your munchkins!!

Looking forward to more of your reviews! I love both resorts you visited but AKL and Kidani Village are my favorites!!:cloud9:
