Hi All;

When we go to Disney next September, certain members ( my wife and daughter) want to do some shopping off resort in Orlando. We are using ME to go to and from the resort so the question is..... what are the least expensive options for going to shop for them.
Can they use transit, or would renting a car for the day be best?

My toughest decision that day will be DQ, TL, BB, Pool.... pirate:

It's about a $10 cab ride (one way) from Downtown Disney to the Orlando Premium Outlets. If you rent a car, you could go to more than one mall/outlet. I usually just hit the Premium Outlets because it has most the outlets that I like - Banana Republic, Guess, Coach, Nike and the Cosmetics Company Outlet (this one is really great if you like MAC, Stila, Clinique or any of the Estee Lauder companies). There's another outlet mall that's pretty popular but I think it's further away so I'm not sure how much a cab ridewould be.

premium out let is good there is also 2 walmart supercenters close buy kmart is 10 minits away, super target, bestbuys ,florida mall, is just on obt 3 minits from walmart supercenter if you get a car for the day every thing is just minits away super walmart is on 192 just down from super target there are also lots of dollar stores on the way.

Rent the Car for the Day!

More Malls that way!

I also vote to rent the car for the day. Get an Alamo deal from Costo Us site and for about the same price as a few cab rides, go where you want when you want. The car care centre in right at WDW.

I have done this 2 times.

We cashed in airmiles to rent a car from alamo if you call the day before they will pick you up and it does'nt take long as they are located in the car care center just outside the MK

Depends on whether they are going to hit just one mall or more.

We did 1 mall (Premium outlet) and cabbed it. that was the cheapest and most convenient.
If more than 1 mall, probably rent a car.

I rented a car for a day to go shopping - there's just too many stores to choose from and I find it hard to differentiate between the legit and non-legit cabs in Orlando. Alamo picks you up at your resort.

I also took advantage of the car by using it to travel from resort to resort for dinner that evening (ate at Boma at AKL). It's saved me about 3 hours of transportation time because there are no Disney buses that travel between resorts.
