So today I went to my local Target and did some shopping for Fall/Winter clothes. They now have out there winter warm mockisins slipper's on sale. I am always shocked as how fast these go out the door, it is only the beginning of August and they are going fast. So I picked up a pair for myself and dd.

I know a lot of the kids are heading back to college in a few weeks and this is one the reason they go so fast. Yes, Fall is around the corner. I also picked up some nice cheap sweathers for kicking around in. I really like LL Beans jeans and sweather's :goodvibes

So yeah, I've spent my summer stocking the downstairs pantry (also known as our general store) for the upcoming Fall/Winter months. I really don't get out to often in the winter except to go see my transplant team and do my radio program twice a week.

So now I am just about finished shopping for Fall/Winter clothes and my pantry is stocked! So has anyone else stocked up. If not to do you plan to?

One thing that I did and that was I shopped all the sales, so I saved money by doing that and I will spend little now the rest of the year! :woohoo:

Shop sales, stock and save!

I usually start stocking up soon but we are going to be moving mid September so I don't want to move any more than necessary. Looks like I will be behind this year.

Well, I've been picking up winter clothes on summer clearance as I found them super cheap. My best deals so far were $4 Gymboree fleece jackets for DS, $6 LL Bean corduroy pants for me, and $15 LL Bean cashmere sweaters for me (for my b-day).

But, other than that, no, I don't stockpile at all. I never knew people really did that until I read about it here. I'm not really into having a ton of food/supplies in my house; and I live in a populated area so getting more of what I need is never really a problem. I live in PA; maybe location dictates stockpiling?

I do have to drive to get to places, we are a very small town with just a few stores. No major malls or high end stores here, You have to drive a little over an hour to get to those. Just small local stuff here, Wal-Mart, Target, Michael's, we just got a Kohl's and Target about two years ago!

I guess that's the difference--location. I live 3 miles from the best food store ever (Wegmans) with a restaurant, coffee shop, free child watch, etc. I also have at least 5 more food stores within that radius, and the biggest mall on the east coast (King of Prussia) is only 15 minutes away. It's so convenient, and we go out almost everyday in the winter. I'd stockpile, too, if I were you. It's just not really done around here.
