shopping near port in key west (western)?

I have a few questions about the key west port.

are there any grocery/convenience stores near there? i ask only because if so, we might want to bring aboard more bottled water and gatorade (DH's favorite) when we get off. we certainly will not go through all that we bring, but if we can get it in key west, this just means we can bring less when we orginally board.

also, can you buy alcohol on sunday in florida? and if so, would there be a store for that?

I just wonder what my options may be.

just looking to stay well hydrated.

I know on our western Magic cruises we were always in Key West on a Sunday and the bars were serving alcohol so I would assume you could also buy it at the stores. As far as convience stores, they have to have grocery stores somewhere in the town but I couldn't tell you where. I am sure the locals would tell you where you could buy what ever you needed.

The water on the ship is very drinkable. We bring one bottle per person, and refill that with ship's water for excursions.

Yup,

I found a drugstore on Keywest and got film, bottled water and even bought batteries for a Christmas gift that I brought for my niece onboard last December. They even had some small named clothing stores like in the malls and of course tons of bars and trinket shops.

I agree that the water on the ship is great and we no longer carry it on. However for other grocery needs like pop (DH loves Pepsi), beer or wine check out http://www.faustos.com/contact.htm Shirley gave me their info back in '03 and we've shopped their twice. We go to the one on Fleming street and while is isn't super close to the pier it isn't too far.
