I see that there are several gift/souvenier shops on 192... wondering if they are worth stopping at. Do they sell lots of Disney things/toys? Anyone ever shop at these before?

We went into one, I can't remember the name but it was a HUGE building and it was blue. There was all kinds of stuff in there, including Disney stuff. Many items were $.99

I've been in several of them over the past few visits and it seems like they all have the same suppliers, so not much difference between items you will find, and the prices are so similar that it almost doesn't matter which one you stop in.

Now there may be others with different experiences but my wife and I started making jokes about how they all might be owned by the same person. That's how similar we found all of them quite honestly.

We ended up heading out to the outlet stores for a much needed change of pace and a much different selection of merchandise.

The majority of these offer the same tacky tee shirts, sandpaper quality towels, and cheap junk.

You are better off going to the Super Walmart or Super Target on 192 or 535if you want park goods. They both have an extensive Disney section, and some Nick/Universal product and offer better quality merchandise for less than the parks.

Another option is the character outlet stores in the outlet malls. Again, the selection might not be the same as in the parks, but far cheaper.

I agree with the previous poster who suggested Walmart or Target for Disney items. We have been to a couple of the gift shops on 192 and they are okay to look around in just for fun, but the quality is pretty poor. We usually save our buying for Walmart, Target and Downtown Disney.

I agree with both PP's. We went to one store next to the Golden Corral on 192 a couple of weeks ago and didn't buy anything. We then went to the super Target and found a lot of Disney stuff. A great assortment and cheaper prices than on Disney property.

I see that you have W. Lafayette, IN as your location. I went to Harrison High School in the early 80's.

Where can I find the Disney outlets? Sounds like a great place to do some shopping. Do they havedecent selection or prices? We are staying at WH.

Premium Outlets on Vineland and on I-Drive have "real" Disney Outlets (staffed by Disney CM's). The selection is pretty good, but like all outlets, not all sizes in all styles. Often the merchandise is outdated (the stuff we were seeing last year in the park stores). Pricing is much better than at the park stores. It is about 75-80% clothing, but there are pins, toys, kitchen gadgets, a bit of Christmas stuff.

We tend to buy most of our souveniers there or at the Publix or Target. We've been in a few of the low end shops, but have never bought anything. The gear is inexpensive, but you get what you pay for.

We shopped at a gift shop on 192 back in March when we were at WDW and one thing that I liked was they had larger size shirts for men. My son needs a 3x and he loves Disney. I found him 2 really nice ones for fairly cheap. That is one thing that bothers me about Disney is they do not carry to many larger sizes. There were a number of t-shirts that I would have bought him in the park but couldn't find the larger sizes. Said they don't carry them.

My son and 3 of his friends all 15yrs had a ball going from store to store. They purchased sharks tooth necklace, gator teeth necklace, beer bottle light, baby shark in a bottle and you all get the idea.

They loved it and I was happy for them. Not my idea of shopping but to each their own.

Its in the outlets on international drive.... My last trip I scored a 3 sweats and a tee for $50.00...... I had been eyeing that hoodie at WDW all week but there was no way I was gonna spend $51 bucks on it! Got 3 instead and was over the moon! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
