If you were going to buy a new video camera, would getting a digital one be important to you? If so, why? Any other features you'd really think were important?

Thanks for any input!

For me...

1.) it has to have a Sony name on it

2.) it has to have a Sony name on it

3.) it has to have a Sony name on it

:)

Actually, I have the DCRTRV22 and the DCRPC330 and they're great digital camcorders. The nightshot feature is a big plus.

Yep, Sony all the way here too.

I guess it depends on your budget and what features you want...but there are some great ones out there!! I love the Sony ones because they have great features like slow motion, black and white, etc. and those are just some of the basics. Ours has a supernightshot and that is real slick....we've used that a lot!! Some of the newer ones have a flash on them for taking digital photos. It really just depends on what is important to you.

Another vote for Sonys, I have 2. I have a Digital 8 and a Mini DV. Yes, I think Digital is important, the picture quality is much better.

Which do you like better elgerber? The Digital 8 or the Mini DV

Thanks

Debbie

They are different, so it's kinda hard to say. The digital 8 has a much better zoom, but for Disney we love the DV (which is why we bought it) because it's so much smaller and lighter. They both take excellent video. The digital 8 has cheaper tapes and they can record for longer periods of time. If it's something you are going to be carrying for long periods and you can swing the price, I'd probably go with the Mini DV, but if not, a digital 8 is an excellent camera as well (we haven't brought ourselves to part with ours, even though we bought the other one LOL).
