Shopaholic Goes Disney.... A Pre-Trip Report (Updated 12/26)

Every year we celebrate Christmas Eve at my paternal grandparents. It is my always favorite day of the year. We get all dolled up and enjoy a fancy sit down dinner. This year with three nearly-two year olds running around, my Grandmother decided to do things differently. We were to dress casual and dine on Gumbo and other cajun items. (ICK!) A few family members were unable to participate at the last minute, so the menu was changed to catering by a nice little Italian place. (Lasagna, Salad, and Bread Pudding.) It was very good! Here are a few pictures!

A terrible picture, but we were laughing so hard because G tried to hug all three of us at once and ended up violating Evie (my youngest sister.)

A wonderful and silly memory- just like we did when we were little girls, my sisters and I performed a Christmas dance for everyone.

The Long-Awaited Cinderella Ring. (I opened it next to my Grandmother because she is a HUGE Cindefan of Cinderella and jewlery. )

When we got home, we put Belle to bed and got to work on her big Christmas gifts. It was the biggest pain in the rear!!!! My mom, G and I worked on it until 1 am before we got the bloomin' thing finished. It turned out very cute and she reacted on Christmas morning with a big, "OOOHHH!!!!"

After that we headed to the country to visit my maternal grandparents and family. We were instructed to wear white shirts, which I thought was uber-cheesy, but it actually turned out to be a great idea. We had a photo-shoot because this could be my Papa's last Christmas. He has terminal liver cancer. I have a feeling he will be here next year, though. He is tough as a boot!

On our way home, we stopped to eat an ultra fancy Christmas dinner at the classiest place in town…..

Great photos. I am a huge fan of black and white photos.
I see you and your sisters are a lot like my family. Everyone always seems to wear black and white. My mom used to say all my girls always like they are going to a funeral.

LOVE the black and white photos! My boys had pix done last year in front of the Christmas tree and they were in jeans and white button ups. The B/W photos turned out amazing...if I ever treked downstairs to the desktop computer, I would upload some and share, but I'm lazy and love the wireless laptop..

You have a gorgeous family...I especially love the sleepy-baby look opening her gifts. They always look so cuddley when their like that!! Glad you had a wonderful Christmas....just a few more days until the World!!!

Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas and all your pictures are gorgeous. Thats such a nice idea to have a nice family meal on Christmas Eve, I would love to do that. And Belle's pressies are so cute, I bet she loved them. Did you make the houses yourself then? Oh and I am glad you got your Cindy ring.

I'm sorry for the late responses. I've been so busy with Christmas that I've only popped in and out and haven't paid much attention to my PTR. I've got a couple of picture post I would like to add before I leave, but this week is looking pretty busy, so I hope I can fit them in.

We've got a change in plans and something 'grizzly' I should warn you about:

-First, T (my best friend who is joining us for the first two days) may or may not be bringing her new boyfriend along. This means I needed to change our ADR to something other than Cinderella. (I'll admit it..... I am a bit nervous to fly my Disney Freak Flag around my best friends potiental soul mate. I wouldn't want to run him off. ) I was hoping he would like to eat at Todd English's Bluezoo, as I think it looks really cool, but he doesn't eat seafood (among other things). Luckily, I got a great ADR somewhere else, but for the sake of a little mystery - I will let you all know where we will be dining our first night when I return and write my trip report.

-Secondly, G has decided to grow a wilderness man beard for our vacation. Sometimes I just don't understand that man! Just warning those of you who see us and wonder who the strange homeless man is holding my hand.

Great lists...can't wait to try some of them myself.

It did turn out very cool. My Papa is a farmer, so it was pretty cool to be able to take those pictures on his farm. I think they make for a wonderful memory.

Woot Woot for the Waffle House! I had a Texas Cheesesteak sandwhich AND a waffle! Suprisingly, it was very clean there and I had no problem eating all of my food!

Actually, Evie wears nothing but black. Audri has a little color in her wardrobe and I'm full of color. We decided to wear black and white to match Evie.
