I'm looking for a light-duty wet/dry vacuum for around the house. It would need to pick up sawdust and drywall sanding dust, as well as possibly minor wet spills. Can anyone recommend a brand that was reliable and a good value? I saw a Shop-Vac at Costco that was 4 HP for around $50. Has anyone tried that brand and model?

i have a rigid, home depot brand. It works well. And they usually mark them half off for black friday. They sell for 70ish most the other time.

just remember to look at filter prices, that'll kick you in the butt in the long run. They can cost up to 20 or more for just one.

But they are fun things to have. When we moved out of one apartment, we sprayed the whole bathroom with cleaner, then hosed it down with the handheld shower, Then used the shop vac to clean it all up. It was the easiest bathroom cleaning i ever done.

They're also very easy to clean up. I'd look on craig's list for one. I recently sold one for 35 dollars in like 2 days. And it didn't take long to get it cleaned to look likle it was new again.
