I know this seems like a silly question, but I can't remember if you are allowed to take off your shoes for Splash Mountain. Does anyone know the policy on shoe wearing? Thanks

I can't say I know specifically for splash mountain, but I know it's not allowed for GRR, so I would assume the same rules apply.

Well, once you leave the loading area, they can't exactly STOP you, but...eww. I would not.

But they can stop the ride and shame you over the loud speaker. That's what I've seen happen on GRR. I wasn't in the vehicle with the offender, but the ride was stopped temporarily until the person complied.

I hate wet shoes so I can tell you from experience that if they see you removing your shoes while still in the loading area, they'll make you put them back on. I didn't remove them after that so I'm not sure what they'd do once the ride starts. If you tuck your feet right up under the sides it does help protect them from most of the water. Another option is to take plastic bags to put over your shoes on the ride. I'm a poncho wearer, too, so anything I can do to stay dry is a plus for me!

It's a no no. But I've done it when I've had fabric flip flops on. I just make sure to keep my feet and flops out of sight and put them on before the loading area.

Someone should invent some foldable quick dry ballerina-style net shoes with a thin fabric sole you can stuff in a little waterproof or sandwich baggie & tuck in your purse. Put 'em on for a water ride, take 'em off, give 'em a squeeze and bag 'em up.

Yep, you have to keep your shoes on. I would suggest bringing some flip flops to change into and put your other shoes in a plastic bag. I usually where my Teva sandals so it's not an issue but I still tuck my feet under the ledge of the boat just to be on the safe side. It's on GRR that you really get soaked though and there is not a good place to put your feet on that ride!

Thanks for the responses. This helps me decide what shoes to have everyone wear to the parks. Looks like it will be sandals. :)

This is what I do. I bring flip flops usually and keep them in the bottom of the stroller and then wear them for water rides. If I forget my flip flops I keep my feet up on the sides. I agree with others that Splash isn't too bad, but GRR is a foot soaker. Though on GRR you can put your feet up a bit on the center usually, and that may help.

As others have said, on Splash Mountain if you put your feet on the braces on the sides of the log, way up high under the top lip of the log, your feet should say quite dry even if the rest of you gets wet. This may not work if the log you ride in is very heavy.

On GRR, there are holes in the bottom of each boat where water can shoot up. If you put your feet over the holes closest to you, it can keep your feet dry. This works well if you do it, but doing it is the problem -- I have gotten into the ride so much that I forget to cover the holes and then suffer for it for the rest of the day.

We bring Crocs in our backpack and switch out. They weigh nothing and save us from walking around in wet shoes.
