If you have done the dolphin swim or TFAD, did you wear water shoes? If so, what brand do you prefer? My daughter is worried the sand is going to be to hot to walk on (going in June) and shes worried she might step on something sharp in the water. She had a bad experience at the NJ shore before and will not go there without water shoes.

Thanks!

We just buy the cheap water shoes from Walmart. We use them for the day (or the vacation, if we're doing other waterparks in addition to our day at Discovery Cove) then pitch 'em when we leave.

I just noted that we will be there the same day as you daughtryfan!!! Let's hope for hot sand, because that means great weather!!! I absolutely wear water shoes everywhere in DC, my wife and I have a nice pair from Columbia that even gives a touch of arch support - bad feet here. There is also quite a variance of the bottom of the lazy river (depth as well), and I think the shoes help. If you make your way over to Aquatica with your tix, a nice pair of shoes on Roa's Rapids is a must, especially when you spend 3-4 hours per visit in it like we do!!
