Shoe stitching question

Is there anything I can put inside my shoe that will cover part of the stitching? I bought NB's and I also have huge bunions (YUCK!). My bunion is rubbing against part of the stitching and it's really annoying!! I'd like something that will be at least semi-perm.

TIA,
Krys

I had the stitching from the tag on the tongue of a sneaker irritating the top of my foot. Duct tape or a bandaid covered it and made the problem stop.

I have the same problem with the NB's I just bought...I'll have to try the duct tape idea :)

By the way...don't get grossed out. It isn't real mole skin. It is just very soft and great for blisters, etc. Good luck.

I use moleskin pads. They're a little thicker than regular moleskin and the pads are foamy so they really cushion nicely.

I cut a little piece and tape it to the insides of my shoes. One pair I put on the heel and one pair I had to put right where the pinkie toe hits the side of the shoes.

NB stands for New Balance. IMO, they are the absolute worst shoes to wear if you have bunions. I have terrible ones, even had the surgery which did nothing. My advice-get rid of the NB's and check out a pair of Brooks. I'm a fanatic about the right shoes because I have so many problems with my feet, and I've found these are the best fitting ones.

I think duct tape would work the best. It's really sticky and will probably not come off. Band-aids or mole skin are probably not as sticky.

MOLESKIN, MOLESKIN, MOLESKIN!!!!!!!!!

I read that advice before our last trip and still didn't take any. Ended up buying two packs at Pop Century gift store for more money but it was WELL worth the money...try it before you leave home and you're see how awesome it is!!!!

Thanks guys! I'll have to try the moleskin AND the duct tape! It's really annoying!!! As for my bunions and NB's, I can't wear any other shoe b/c I have ZERO arch in my foot and these are the only comfortable shoe I could find that didn't irritate my arch. My bunion is only really bad on one foot, so it's not that huge of a deal. Thanks!

Well, that makes sense then, my arches are too high!! Geez, does anyone have good feet???

Does the moleskin stick by itself? Also, if I start to get a blister, do I put it right on the skin?

Moleskin has an adhesive backing on it, and yes, you put it right on the skin.

I love, love, love moleskin.

Well, as funny as this sounds. I like my feet. :cool1: That's actually one of my favorite things.

my husband swears by these when he backpacks. he puts one on when he gets a "hotspot". they stick right over the spot on the skin. if you put it on in the morning when you get ready to go, it has a little padding, and won't roll up like duct tape and moleskin will. it will stay on for a day or so as long as it doesn't get too wet. they have them at cvs up here in massachusetts.
good luck!
