For all those people out there getting electric shocks when they are wearing crocs, my husband just fixed mine by earthing them! No joke he put a electric wire around the bottom of them and through the holes....it works! I went from shocking my family and the dogs several times a day, a big shocks with sparks, to NO shocks!
 
Aren't crocs made of rubber? It's basically all my kids wear. They have never once been shocked.

Never been shocked. Been wearing them for almost 20 years and have about 10 pairs
 
Thanks for the tip. I wear my mary Jane crocs all the time and an constantly getting shocked, it shocked me (lol) because I thought since they were rubber I would be safe

No. They're almost entirely EVA plastic. That's actually the material used in most athletic shoe midsoles, and they have a potential to shock too.

You should see what people do when it comes to getting shocked by a car. I remember owning a set of tires that said it had a carbon black "ring" to increase conductivity. I'll sometimes make sure my key touches my car first. I can literally see the spark across the key, but as long as the spark isn't right at my hand I don't feel it. Some people use grounding straps that drag along the pavement to reduce the buildup of static.
