We are presently staying at OKW in a one bedroom( home resort ) and we haven't been here in awhile, we were staying the other resorts the last 3-4 years. I am shocked at the poor quality and comfort of the new furniture, both couches and sofabed and even the mattress in the bedroom are sub standard in my opinion and not as comfortable as in the past.
I tried the full sofabed and it feels like I'm laying on some cheap $300 sofabed from Big Lots, there is a hump in the middle of my back, I can feel the metal under the cheap mattress whereas in the past I was perfectly happy sleeping on the sofabed. At least the new single sofabed seems like the old quality.
The living room couch's are a steep slide in quality, the cushions feel like a hard plastic and very stiff, and also very uncomfortable
And the mattress in the bedroom is hard to the point like it feels as if I'm laying on a slab. In the past the king size mattress felt as good as any high quality hotel, but not anymore in my opinion.
I appreciate the fact that the furniture needs to last, but this is not good, what are they trying to do? Keep us from wanting to book long vacations? If we can't stand sleeping on the furniture for more than 3 nights at a time, it might be time to sell my interest.
I'd like to hear others and their feelings about this.
Also, once again the housekeeping has alot to be desired, I shouldn't see large hunks of black mildew coming from the bottom of the shower door onto the floor of the shower when water gets sprayed onto the door, If they can't figure this out, maybe they need to start using frameless shower doors.
Plus they need to send someone from maintenance around with one of those $2.99 tools that you can buy at Home depot that will pull all the old hair from the bathroom sink drain, I pulled up a large wad of black disgusting hair/mildew/soap scum and dirt out of the drain with a tweezers this morning when the sink would no longer drain.
At least when I called to report it to maintenance, the girl I spoke with knew exactly what I was talking about as she has one of those tools from Home Depot and when I mentioned what I pulled out of the drain, she also said it was pretty gross. and she would have someone here in the morning.
