I am just wondering how many people on here have shipped a lot of your wedding stuff to your resort prior to the wedding? Did you have any problems? Any suggestions?

Also, how did you go about shipping the stuff back?

Thank you

We shipped a ton of stuff, and it worked perfectly.

About a week and a half beforehand, we sent a big box of ceremony and reception items, including our favors, to the first resort we stayed in. We also bought bottled water at Costco.com and had that shipped to two of our other resorts. In all cases, the items arrived in plenty of time and were easy to get from Bell Services.

For the ceremony/reception items that were left over, we packed them back in the orignial box and drove them to UPS in Celebration to ship home. I've heard you can also ship packages home from your Disney resort, and I think there may be a FedEx or UPS near Downtown Disney.... let's see...

FedEx Kinko's: 12181 S Apopka Vineland Road
Mail Boxes Etc.: 12179 S Apopka Vineland Road
The UPS Store: 8131 Vineland Ave

Do you ever send stuff to your planner? With the reception stuff wouldn't we send it to our planner since they have to set it up? If not when do we give the stuff to them?

Does anyone have any suggestions on sending stuff back if you didn't rent a car? I guess I can send it Fedex since I have a fed ex # but think it would be a lot cheaper to send USPS.. I know with fed ex I can drop if off at the front desk and they sent it off for me.

thanks

Planners usually won't let you ship stuff to them because they have no storage space at Franck's or at their offices in Celebration. What you have to do is ship the stuff to yourself and then deliver it to Franck's a few days before the wedding or give it to your planner at the rehearsal. That's as long as they will keep things for you.

You might wanna check out the USPS's rates - when they raised them earlier this year, they eliminated a lot of the cheaper services; you may find that FedEx costs the same as or less than the US Postal Service.

Plus, if you have the ability to get FedEx to just pick things up for you at your hotel's front desk, it could be worth it just to skip the hassle of trying to find a place to mail all your stuff.
