Shipping to hotel

We are staying at ASMu. I would like to ship a "suprise" package for my son and my mother in law to the hotel. Do they allowe deliveries? How does this work exactly?

I always send a box of "magic" down in advance.

Simply address the box to your attention c/o resort name and address. I always put the arrival date and confirmation # on the box as well.

You may want to consider UPS or FexEx. You will receive a tracking number so you can make sure it arrives in advance.

They will store this for you and a note will pop up for the castmember when you are checking in. Sometimes I pick it up....generally I have bell services deliver it to my room.

This is not YOUR case.....but be advised......you will be charged for this service if you stay at a Disney hotel with convention facilies.....based on the weight.

The WDW value resorts don't have bell services, so you might have to pick up the box at the front desk or from luggage services. You might be able to arrange to have luggage services deliver it, but they can't guarantee a time.

Otherwise, it works great! I usually ship a box of consumables ahead so I don't have to pack them in either direction.

Edited to add:

One piece of advice I learned from this site (one of many!), is to address the box properly according to the shipping company's requirements. Then, on all four sides of the package write: Hold for guest (name) arriving (arrival date). That way, if the box arrives ahead of you and other stuff is on top of it, the staff can still find it. I printed it on paper and taped it firmly to the box.

We always ship UPS or FedEx - they will give you tracking numbers.

You can go to either website and get an estimate of costs based on weight and box dimentions. They will also tell you how long it will take to ship. I generally add at least TWO days to the estimate - just ot be safe.
