THANK you! Now I have space in my suitcase for clothes. We were going to pack a small Christmas tree, lights and some other decorations into the checked bag. These suggestions are most awesome. :thanks:

I think you could. I only say that you need a receipt because the mickey hats we had gotten as party favours at the wedding we went to were not shippable due to no bar code. They must be able to figure out what to replace if the package gets lost in the morass of the UPS.

And it doesn't matter at all if you ever bought anything at that gift shop. Any gift shop can do it. I would use the one at your hotel, and ship it all together. That is the greatest opportunity for free shipping for hitting a certain purchase threshold. They sometimes offer that.

I just got news from someone on another group that he was charged $5 for each package. Any news on that? He's staying at POP.

Other than the Convention Resorts, WDW does not charge for packages received. My Cousin arrived at Pop today and did not have to pay for the 3 boxes she shipped to herself.

Now if you have Bell Services deliver your stuff to your room a tip is customary, maybe that's what they meant.

The website was updated today to reflect those changes. According to another website it's a test but I don't see the fee going away. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/mail-services/

Wow, very new development. Thanks for posting this. I agree that with the popularity of Prime, Prime Now, etc I don't see this fee going away.

I guess it's too early to tell if this will include Owners Locker and Garden Grocer deliveries.

Oh my! I just entered my Amazon Prime Now order and am wondering if I am going to be charged one $5 fee or $5 for each 12-pack of diet coke. Surely it will be one $5 charge for the order.

Saw on FB a post from a TA saying the fee applies to mail, UPS, Fedex. Does not apply to strollers, groceries, etc delivered in person.

It says $5 per package so I'd think this will be anything that's separate. It's pretty early in this to know for certain.

This is good news, hopefully this is how it will work out. With my owners lockers and nicely packed Dizzy Dolphin orders, I'd be looking at another $100 on top of tips to Bell Services. I'll be watching this thread for updates before my February trip.

I would also be curious how they handle multiple packages that were part of one order (i.e., from Amazon) if someone could report back. Our trip is in 2 weeks and we were planning to use Amazon Prime to ship down stuff that would be difficult to pack (laundry detergent/shout, diapers, wipes etc.). However, we have no control of how Amazon chooses to package these items and how many separate boxes they put them in. If they are charging per box, I figure our shipping fee could be anywhere from $5-$20, which could make a difference in how we choose to proceed.

Just want to say that I'd love it if someone could report back...going to place an Amazon order in a few days and it looks like it's going to break up into 3 separate boxes. Ugh!

I had a package shipped last week to All Star Movies and my friend was charged $5 for a tiny package (smart watch). I'm pretty peeved that they're doing this. I pay a lot of money to stay at Disney and their nickel and diming is getting to me.

I am pretty sure the fee is $5 per box. How would Disney know it was one order?

I picked up two Amazon packages from the front desk at POFQ on Monday 11/28 and I was not charged a fee. So, it may be up to the discretion of the staff.

I'm mailing a small note to a family that I'm helping with their trip ("Loved helping you plan your trip. Excited for you, it's gonna be a great week, etc.")
I mailed it to them c/o of their resort.

If Disney charges them $5 to pick that up, I'm gonna be so peeved.

Has anyone successfully sent mail to a resort guest before? Were they charged for it?

Can anyone confirm that the $5 fee is only charged at value resorts? I have a big Disney Store order (20 items) on the way to my resort and they're shipping it out 2 items at a time... The first package is worth a grand total of $5.50. I would not be happy if I get charged $50 on top of what I already spent on Disney merchandise when I have zero control over the amount of shipments the order comes in.

As of 12-5-16 the test is only at the Values. Going forward, it's anybody's guess what they do.
